Our California Advenure Part 3: LEGOLAND

I was most looking forward to Disneyland, but the kids....well, they could not wait for LEGOLAND!  We got up early and got there early.  We weren't all that familiar with LL and didn't do as much planning ahead like we did for Disney, but we had read to start from the back and then work your way to the front.  We did that and the first section was nothing but water!  We did know about the huge water section, so we just dressed the kids in their swimsuits, which worked out really well!  The kids were pumped to get to ride a water roller coaster in which there was a sign warning "You will get SOAKED!"  They had to have an adult go with them, so I volunteered.  Well, the sign was right.  By the end of the ride, every single person in our car was totally drenched!  After that, they played at a splash pad with all kinds of water features.  After they had their water fun, we moved on to the other parts of the park.  LL was really neat because there were huge Lego blocks all throughout the park for kids to play with.  Of course, lots and lots of huge Lego structures, and various rooms filled with the smaller Lego bricks for kids to have fun with!  I also really liked how the park was laid out by age.  We didn't realize it, but we took the side for the younger kids first.  It was really great for Pearce and even Charlotte, because there were fun rides, but just their size.  Nay Nay still had fun, but after a while, we could tell he was ready for a little more action and adventure!  We decided to start walking over to the opposite side where there were several roller coasters and more adventurous rides and attractions.  There was one roller coaster that we had to wait about 30 mins for, but boy was it worth it!  Pearce never seemed scared watching it zoom all around us while we waited....he could not wait!  Oh my gosh, the first drop was seriously so scary!  The drop was soooo steep!  Pearce LOVED it!  We looked at our pic afterwards, and Chris said he had to get it because of all of our faces!  We caught a 4D show and did some more scary rides and then we realized that the park closes at 5:00 on weekdays!  We still had several other parts we wanted to see, plus had to let the kids pick out a Lego set, and we only had an hour left!  We hustled and thankfully lines weren't long and we were able to finish the rest of the park AND let the kids pick out a Lego set in the madhouse of what is known as the LEGOLAND gift shop!  Phew!  It really was such a great day!  About 10 minutes after leaving, all 3 kids were totally conked out....but they rallied as soon as we got back to our hotel and started working on their new Lego sets :)

Next up....the San Diego Zoo!

  1. LegoLand looks like so-o-o much fun! You were really a good sport to go on all the wet rides. I love roller coasters, so I'm glad Pearce does too. Bet you didn't get Chris on any though. I wanna go to LegoLand!! (in my dreams - LOL)
