Easter 2015

Our Easter weekend was perfect except for one thing...Chris got so sick and was unable to come to Dallas with us :(  Pearce had gotten sick the week before when Pops and Mimi were here and whatever he had, it was bad...fever, throwing up, no energy.  We were set to leave on Friday, but that morning Chris was throwing up and had fever.  I knew Chris wouldn't be able to go with us.  I was so sad about that, but at least he had a whole weekend to just do nothing.  He is just now feeling better!  We got to Dallas Friday afternoon and Pearce was so excited to see his cousins!  They played non stop!  They even went swimming a couple of times!  Nay Nay and Charlotte were brave and jumped right in to swim.  Pearce thought he was brave, but as soon as his feet got in, that's as far as he went...too cold for him.  But he talked a big talk :)  We decided to do our Easter dinner and egg hunt on Saturday because Sunday it was going to be raining...it worked out really well!  Ashley made the cutest little cheesecake bites with chocolate eggs on top.  I wish I had taken a picture!  We had ham, mom's yummy potatoes, Helen's yummy baked beans, rolls, and salad.  It was so good!  Ash and I stuffed 60 plastic eggs the night before and the kids could hardly wait for the egg hunt.  We hid them all and then it was time.  We told Nathan he could get 20 eggs and then stop and let Charlotte and Pearce get the rest.  They were off!  Pearce counted to 8 eggs and then declared he was finished and wanted to sit down to eat his candy :)  There were a ton more in plain sight right on the ground, but nope, Pearce was happy with his eggs!  After the egg hunt and candy eating, the kids wanted to go swimming.  Once again, Pearce was just begging to get in the pool.  I didn't even bother with putting on his swimsuit...just undies and his floatie.  He had fun standing on the first step of the pool and shooting everyone with the water gun...that was the extent of his "swimming."  After that we dyed eggs and it actually wasn't too messy!  Mom and Daddy and Grandmother left then.....and totally missed Nathan pushing Ash into the pool!  I talked Nathan into it and swore he wouldn't get in trouble :)  I videoed the whole thing, and it was hilarious!  Good job, Nay Nay!!  That night, all three kids slept together in Nay Nay's room and then woke up at 6:30 in the morning to see what the Easter Bunny left them :)  They all loved their Easter goodies and got busy eating the candy!  In Pearce's Easter bucket, he got a pair of pajamas, Iron Man, a superhero coloring book, bubbles, a chocolate bunny, a candy egg, and lots of other chocolate and candy.  It was fun putting his bucket together!  Then it was time to get everyone dressed...which is always a struggle with my little Pearce.  We finally got everyone ready and man, did the kiddos look cute!  I got Pearce a pair of blue and white seersucker pants, a white linen button up shirt, and a blue sweater vest, plus navy boat shoes.  He looked adorable!  Nathan looked so grown up in his blazer, button down shirt and a tie!  He totally knew he looked sharp, too :)  Charlotte had the cutest little light pink dress with tulle overlay.  She also knew she looked cute!  We got to church and met Mama, Papa, and Grandmother there.  We took pictures and then took the kids to their classrooms.  I knew Pearce would cry when I dropped him off in his room just because it was a new place and he didn't know anyone.  I felt so bad for him at first, but he had the sweetest young teacher in his room and when I handed over my crying little boy, she just held him and he laid his head down on her.  Poor little guy!  I knew he would be fine after a few minutes, but it still made me feel sad for him.  Charlotte walked right into her room, of course and Nathan got to go to big church with us.  It was a really nice service with lots of pretty music.  After the service, we went to get Pearce and Charlotte.  When I peeked into his room, he was happily playing and was so excited to see us.  His teacher said he did just fine!  We went back to Ashley's house and had leftovers for our lunch.  The leftovers were almost better than from the day before!  Nay Nay, and Pearce, and Charlotte just played and played.  When it was time for us to leave, Pearce was sooooo sad.  He breaks my heart when we have to leave his cousins.  He cried for about 10 minutes saying he needed Nay Nay and "Char-wet" and then went sound asleep for 3.5 hours and woke up 20 minutes before we got home!  He was worn out, but we had such a great time together!  Thanks for a great Easter weekend, Ash!!
