Crowe's Nest Farm with MOPS

I belong to a group called MOPS (Mothers Of Preschoolers).  We meet once a month at a church.  I drop Pearce off at the nursery and then the moms go upstairs for brunch and a speaker.  I love this time to spend with other moms.  We also have play dates throughout the month.  Our MOPS group met at Crowe's Nest Farm for a little field trip.  What's so funny is that I used to go here with my first graders when I was teaching.  Lots of memories!  I told Chris wrangling one toddler was about the same as wrangling a class of first graders :)  We got to see a cow getting milked, go on a hay ride, look at the animals, and then have a picnic.  Since we were going to a farm, I knew Pearce had to wear his overalls...always dressing for the occasion!

Open House at Bethany School

It was so much fun going to Pearce's school for Open House.  He got to show me his classroom and all of his art he had been working on.  He was so proud of it!  His teachers, Ms. Dawn and Ms. Irene are sooooo sweet!  They told me the kids have a job each week.  I don't know how often they switch jobs, but Pearce was the "weather guy" last week.  Ms. Dawn told me that he looks out the window and then chooses the card that matches what it looks like outside.  He showed me how he does it.  I was trying to get him to sit by the calendar so I could take a picture, but he would not do it.  Then Ms. Dawn came over and told him to sit by the calendar so that I could take a picture....he did just what Ms. Dawn asked him to...of course!  He is always talking about Ms. Dawn and Ms. Irene.  I'm so happy Pearce loves school and loves his teachers!  After Open House, we met Daddy at Phil's Ice House for play time and dinner.  It was such a fun evening!

Dallas Visit

Last weekend, Pearce and I made a quick trip to Dallas to visit Nathan and Charlotte.  Pearce has been missing them so much, so Ash and I had to find a weekend where we could get the the kids together.  This weekend was so fun because we really didn't have a whole lot planned.  We just let the kids play and have fun being together.  We did have fun meeting Nay Nay for lunch at school, which Pearce loved!!  Nathan was cute showing Pearce off to his teachers and friends :)  We went to see Grandma after lunch.  Pearce and Charlotte were so sweet to Grandma.  They loved brushing her hair....Grandma is always a good sport about that.  On Saturday, we had fun going to the Dallas Arboretum.  There was a whole new section for kids and the kids loved exploring it.  Pearce loves any chance he can get to be with Nay Nay and Charlotte!!  One funny thing that happened one night was when Nathan and Charlotte were both on their iPads.  Ashley and I were in the kitchen and then we heard Pearce go up to Nathan and say "Nay Nay wanna go upstairs and pay wif me?"  Nathan said not right now.  Then he went to Charlotte and said "Charlotte wanna go upstairs and pay wif me?"  Charlotte said no, not right now.  Then Pearce came into the kitchen and put both his hands up and said to us "Anybody dont to pay wif me."  It was hilarious how he said it!!!  So, Auntie Ashy went upstairs and played with Pearce and soon Nay Nay and Charlotte came, too :)

Barton Hills Farm 2014

A couple weekends ago, Chris and I took Pearce to Barton Hills Farm.  I love this farm and pumpkin patch!!  It's a wide open space with tons of activities for kids.  When we went, it was a bit wet and even poured down just a few minutes before we got there.  We decided to tough it out and just go.  It actually was not as soggy or muddy once we got to the farm.  I'm so glad we decided to just go ahead and go....Pearce had the best time!!!  What we thought was funny was that with all the activities there were, Pearce's favorite was feeding the goats :)
