Pops and Mimi

Pops and Mimi left this morning :(  I hated to see them go because they are SOOOOOOOO helpful to me and they just absolutely adore Pearce....and Pearce feels the same way about them!  We had such a great visit, as always.  I was really happy that they got to see Pearce's new trick....rolling all over the floor in every direction.  He's also now getting on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth.  Mimi had to do the first bit of baby proofing.  He kept rolling to the side table that has a plant sitting underneath it.  He liked to pull on it so up it went on the armoire.  He also loved playing with two tassels that hung from the entertainment center.  So, Mimi hung them from two picture frames higher up...which actually looks really cute!

Always fun to feed the baby!  I was able to make a TON of baby food and freeze it while Cliff and Edie were here.  I feel so good about that!

Pearce got his first taste of green beans and....

 LOVED them!

Cute overalls from Pops and Mimi :)

 We celebrated Edie's birthday, too.
"Mimi, this sure is a pretty box."

"Would you mind if I chewed on it for a little bit?"

"I really want to chew on this nice box, Mimi."

"Pearce, let me open it first, then you can have the box."

"Oh, I can't wait to get my gums on it!!!"

"Mommy, why is she going so slow?"

"Never mind the box, these things look so yummy!!"

"Oh, Mommy, I love them!"

"Mimi said I can't have those round things, but this box sure is yummy!"

LOVE these Stella & Dot earrings!!

 Happy Birthday Mimi!

Pops could not get enough of his little buddy.  He was always quick to feed him or hold him or play with him.  He said that he sees so much of Chris in Pearce.  It must be the neatest thing to see YOUR baby in your grand baby!  Cliff even said his personality was a lot like Chris's as a baby.

We think Pearce's bottom two teeth have to be close to coming in.  He kept chewing on his finger and actually, everything else he could get his hands on.

Edie was such a huge help to me while they were here.  She cleaned my whole house, always had a pitcher of formula made, always had a bottle ready in the fridge, always had the dishes clean and the kitchen cleaned up, fed the dogs, gave the dogs their medicine, cooked homemade meals, did the laundry, folded the laundry, AND still had time to love on this little guy!  She makes it look so easy.  Pops and Mimi spoiled both of us!
"Mommy, you realize the house is going to be a DISASTER when they leave, right?"

"Mimi, I think that is just what my gums need!"
Pearce has tons of toys....but what does he like to play with? A spatula.  So does Daisy :)

Oh, and the sugar container is mighty fun, too.

 The whole gang!

Pearce loves his baths!  He really put on a show this time.  He was SCREAMING and SQUEALING and SPLASHING!  We all thought it was so funny.  At one point, Cliff was taking a video with his phone and I was taking a video with our video camera!

Each night, either Cliff or Edie would put Pearce to bed.  He wore himself out most nights :)

Pops and Mimi, we loved having you come for a visit!  I can't thank you enough for all of your help.  Pearce is so lucky to have adoring grandparents.  We can't wait to see y'all again soon.  We love you!!

7 months old!

**For some reason this post disappeared!  I'm reposting.  Pearce turned 7 months on 8-25-12**

Pearce, you are 7 months old today!

I cannot believe you are already 7 months old....time is really flying by!  You are growing fast and doing new things all the time and I am loving every bit of it!

Your 6th month has been the most fun so far.  You are so interactive and your sweet, funny, loving, happy personality really shines through.  These are things I want to remember about your 6th month.

*Last week you weighed 19 lbs!
*You had your first antibiotic for a slight ear infection.
*You wear 6-9 month clothes and some 6-12 month clothes, too.
*You now wear a size 2 shoe.
*Still in size 3 diapers.
*Still take 7 ounces of formula during a feeding.
*STILL vomit spew puke spit up all the time :)
*You LOVE food!  We make your baby food and you have had:  pears, bananas, apples, peas, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes (from Mama), zucchini, and squash.
*You rub your eyes and tug at your ear when you are tired.
*You roll in all directions and scooch on your tummy.
*From the sitting position, you will fall forward to get on your tummy.
*You still have a consistent napping schedule:  You take a 2 hr. long morning nap, a 2-3 hr. long afternoon nap, and most evenings, you'll take a shorter nap...maybe an hour or so.
*We've been putting you to bed by 9:00 and you wake up between 7-8 in the morning.  We are trying to get you to go to bed by 8:30, but that hasn't happened yet.
*Sometimes you'll wake up during the night, but I just put your paci back in and you go back to sleep.
*You started sitting in the front of the shopping carts and in restaurant high chairs!
*No teeth yet.
*You notice when I leave the room and will cry for me a lot more now.  I don't give in to you, because as much as I love you, I won't carry you all the time, BUT when you do cry as I'm walking away from you, I can't help but smile because I know you love me.  You know I'm your mommy and that just makes my heart want to burst out of my chest.  You will let anyone hold you but sometimes you'll get a little fussy and all I have to do is pick you up and you settle right down.  LOVE that!
*You are such a happy baby and you smile all the time!
*Daddy loves to feed you your baby food!
*You jabber all the time and you've started mimicking a few sounds and motions.
*It's easy to make you laugh now.  Daddy is good at making you laugh.  Daddy made me laugh the other day when he said, "I wonder which one of us will break our ankle first?"  He was referring to the amount of toys that accumulate on the floor :)

Pearce, how did Daddy and I get so lucky to get YOU?  You have fit into our life so perfectly and we are incredibly thankful.  I wonder what you will learn this next month....maybe crawling?  We'll see!  As long as you are happy and healthy, I don't care what you do!  We love you baby boy!
