The Hulk

Pearce is into every type of superhero and has been for about a year now.  A few months ago, I saw on Netflix that the original Incredible Hulk series was on there and I couldn't wait to show Pearce.  Ashley and I LOVED The Incredible Hulk show when we were little, so I was looking forward to watching with Pearce.  Well, my little guy was hooked from the first episode!  He always wants to watch the parts when David Banner transforms into the Hulk over and over.  At one point we even got a pair of Pearce's old pajamas that were too small and I cut them up and cut the top up the back so that he could pretend he was the Hulk.  He will come into the room and say "Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry" and then he makes the cutest mean face and rips off his shirt and acts like the hulk, turning over his chair, grrrring, and flexing his muscles.  It's so funny!  So, ever since he started watching The Incredible Hulk, he said he was going to be the Hulk for Halloween.  Daddy showed Pearce costumes on the computer and he just could not wait to get his costume.  Last week, I saw the Disney Store had a 25% off sale of their costumes, so I decided to go ahead and take Pearce to look.  As soon as we spotted the Hulk costume, I knew he was going to go crazy for it, especially because it came with a mask that went over his head.  I tried to get him to look at Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Spider-Man, but Pearce had already started taking his clothes off in the store to put the Hulk costume on :)  Pearce just loved this costume and I pretty much had to bribe him to not wear the costume out into the mall.  As soon as we got home, clothes were off again, and Pearce became the Hulk!  He loved looking at himself in the mirror and I was videoing him and said "Hulk, where did Pearce go?"  He said in his toughest voice, "Pearce is gone!  I'm the Hulk!"  Then in Pearce's sweet voice he said, "Just kidding Mommy, it's me, I just wearing my costume."  Then when Daddy got home, the costume went on again :)  We've now hidden it so that it will be in good condition by Halloween :)  I can't wait to see my little guy in his costume on Halloween!!!  This Halloween will be especially fun because we are going to Dallas so that Pearce can be with Nathan and Charlotte...Halloween, hurry up and get here!!

The Dentist

A few weeks ago, Pearce had another visit to the dentist.  He has been going to the dentist regularly since he was about 18 months old, and has always done so well!  This visit was no exception.  First, he had to get x-rays....he's never done this before, but he did everything the tech told him to do and I was so proud!  Then it was time to go back to the exam room.  He got to pick out a movie to watch...he picked out Toy Story and then he picked out some sunglasses, put them on, leaned back, and watched the movie while he got his teeth cleaned.  His dentist, Dr. Gregorson, is sooo nice and Pearce really likes him which makes the whole experience so easy!  Dr. Gregorson gave Pearce a great report on his teeth.  He also said Pearce's overbite has gotten a lot better and that it will continue to self-correct as he grows.  I didn't tell him that Pearce has latched onto another blankie :)  BUT, in Pearce's defense, he has really gotten good about not wanting to take blankie in the car and a lot of the times, he does just hold blankie when he's watching a movie....he mostly sucks on blankie when he goes to sleep at night , but I have noticed that he doesn't keep it in his mouth ALL night like he did BB's.  Mama got Pearce his own Sonicare toothbrush and Pearce has started brushing his own teeth all by himself....and then I go over them a little bit.  I think that toothbrush is so great for little kids and Dr. Gregorson was impressed Pearce had one!

First Day of School--3 year old class

Pearce had his first day of school today in the 3 year old class!  When I woke him up this morning, I said "Pearce, you get to go to school today and play with your friends!"  Pearce said "Mommy, I so cited!"  Last week, we went to meet his teacher, Ms. Carolyn.  When we walked in, Ms. Carolyn said hi to Pearce and Pearce immediately went over to her and gave her a hug!  She then asked Pearce if he wanted to look around the room and find some toys he liked.  He was off and playing in no time.  Pretty soon, several of his friends walked in.  Tre and Ruby were in his class last year and they are in his class this year, as well as Logan from our play group!  I was so happy Pearce was going to have several friends he already knew.  We stayed in Ms. Carolyn's class for about 30 mins and then Pearce gave her another hug and told her he would see her next week.  This morning, Pearce walked right in and almost forgot to give me a hug and kiss!  He then put his lunch box on the shelf and hung his backpack up and then went to play.  Ms. Carolyn told the parents last week that the kids are going to learn to be more independent this year....opening their own lunches and going potty at designated potty times...as well as pulling their own pants down and back up.  Pearce and I practiced opening his own lunch containers and pulling his pants down and back up....oh man, that takes work!  After I left Pearce, I was just hoping he would have a great day and not have his undies all bunched up when I picked him up :)  I came home and relaxed and cleaned the house a bit and then went to pick up my little guy at 1:00.  When I came to his room, he got so excited to see me and said he had a fun day!  In the car, I asked Pearce all about school.  He said they got to go to the "big room" to play and his best friends are Tre and "Wogan."  His favorite part was playing with play doh and he really loved his peanut butter and jelly sandwich.....ummmm....I packed a turkey and cheese sandwich :)  I checked his lunch box and the only thing that was left were his blueberries, so someone (hopefully it was Pearce!) enjoyed his turkey sandwich, LOL!  I also packed grapes and blueberries, a cheese stick, and a few vanilla wafers.  Oh, and his undies were not all bunched up :)  Pearce will go to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays this year.  I'm thinking about letting him do "Lunch Bunch" this year too.  That's where the kids stay until 2:00 and get to eat lunch, play and do a craft.  Thursdays are short and get out at 12:00, so Lunch Bunch would be GREAT for Mommy :)

Friends

At 3 1/2 years old, little Pearce has lots of cute little friends!  Claire and Pearce have been friends since they were first born!  Pearce is just a month older than Claire and they are so darn cute together!  They really, really love playing and being together.  Whenever I tell Pearce we are going to see Claire, he can't get out of the house fast enough...all other times, he is dragging his feet :)  On this day, Heather and I met at Barnes and Noble, but we quickly realized we needed to get them outside because they just wanted to run and tackle each other....at least Pearce was wanting to tackle Claire.  So we went to a park that was right next door and they had so much fun together.  I just happened to get these cute pics of them together and they couldn't be any cuter with their coordinating outfits...which we did not plan!  Wouldn't it be something if Pearce and Claire always loved each other and got married one day?!  Hey, I can dream :)  I at least hope they will always be friends :)

Pearce and I have been a part of a play group since Pearce was about a month old!  I was so worried about finding friends after quitting teaching and for me to have found this group is sooo amazing.  We always talk about how awesome our group is and how close we all are to each other and how every single mom would not hesitate for a second to help one another out.  And our kids are so cute together, too!  We just all mesh so well and we have stayed together for 3 1/2 years meeting once a week!  Well, sadly, Danielle is moving to Toledo, Ohio to be closer to her and her husband's family.  When she sent the email out to us, I immediately started crying.  I just love Danielle and Allie and Baby Caroline!  Danielle is the type of person that always knows the right thing to say to make you feel better about anything AND she is so funny....ugh, so sad she is leaving.  So, we decided to have a going away party and have one last play date with Allie :(  Those of us that could, met at Phil's Ice House to eat lunch and play.  We were lucky to get this cute pic of our group!  Not everyone was able to make it, but I still LOVE this picture...and I realize I am holding a "man-child."  We all had so much fun playing and Pearce was totally a sweaty, dirty mess when we left...3 hours later!  Pearce gave Allie a little gift of several coloring books with crayons for their LONG drive to Ohio.  I gave Danielle a McDonald's gift card.  You might think, McDonald's?????  What????  Well, the funny thing about Danielle is that she drives through McDonald's just about every day to get a large diet Coke because any size drink is $1.  So, I gave her a gift card to continue her diet Coke addiction, and she LOVED it!!!!  So funny!  We will miss you Danielle, Allie, and Baby Caroline!!
