Gymboree Halloween Party

I take Pearce to Gymboree once a week for our play class and we just love it.  Tonight I took Pearce to the Gymboree Halloween party.  It was so much fun!  Christie and Ridley went too.  Ridley was the Travelocity Gnome!  His Grandmother made his costume and he looked adorable!  I was so excited to dress Pearce in his cowboy costume for the first time...man, did he sure look cute!  I decided to have him be a cowboy this year because he already had a cowboy hat and I remembered that Nathan was a cowboy years ago and Ashley still had his costume, so it was a pretty easy decision this year!  GG got him the cutest little cowboy boots, so we were all set.  It was so fun to see so many cute kids all dressed up.  They got to do lots of fun things and then had a little snack of cookies and juice and also got to color a pumpkin.

I had my camera ready for this....Pearce ALWAYS cries after we do the parachute...EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.  He loves to run under the parachute and has the best time riding the waves, but when the countdown begins for us parents to let go of the parachute, I hold my breath and think, "Well, maybe he won't cry this time."  Nope.  As soon as the parents let go and the teacher gathers it up, he throws himself down and starts crying.  And he is the only one, that I have see, that does this :)

Bon Jovi and Mama and Papa's House

I just got back from a fun few days in Dallas!  Wednesday night, me, Ash, Meredith, and Marla went to see Bon Jovi.  It was SUCH a fun concert!!!  We went to eat first and then headed for the concert.  It was a little crazy getting downtown to the American Airlines Center...at one point we were driving on the trolley tracks and two cops stopped us to let us know :)  I told him, "Look, we're just 4 stay at home moms, trying to be cool and go to a Bon Jovi concert....we have no idea how to drive downtown!"  One laughed and was helpful getting us back on track (no pun intended) and the other cop didn't think it was so funny.  We finally got there, got our seats, and had so much fun!  Although, at one point, Ashley did take a little cat nap....how in the world she did it, I don't know :)  But she rallied afterwards!

Mom and I took Pearce to see Grandma, or Memaw, as Pearce likes to say :)  He was so sweet to her and loved on her and I know Grandma loved see us!

Since Nathan is a big Kindergartner now, I wanted to be sure to go eat lunch with him at school.  We surprised him and he was so excited!  He was so cute saying hi to all of his little friends.

We all went to the Dallas Arboretum on Friday and it was such a nice cloudy, cool day.  Loved it!  Nathan was in school, but Ashley was babysitting one of her friend's little boys and Pearce just loved Trevor! We had a picnic and had fun roaming all around and seeing pumpkins EVERYWHERE!  Auntie Ashy made this cute little jacket for Pearce...I can't believe she actually sewed it!  She has been going over to mom's a lot and has started learning how to sew!

On Saturday, Mom and I took Pearce to the Heard Museum.  It's a neat outdoor area with lots of walking trails, sanctuary animals, and they always have some sort of exhibit going on.  This time it was "Dinosaurs LIVE!"  There were tons of life size dinosaurs that moved and made sounds.  Pearce loved walking the trails and seeing all the dinosaurs.  There was even a little village of houses you could explore.  Pearce loved going from house to house.  The last one he went to had all kinds of pots and pans and brooms...he loved playing house!

One of Pearce's favorite things to do at Mama and Papa's house is to go for a "dof dart" ride in Papa's golf cart.  They went on several rides while we were there.  He loves feeding the ducks....but a lot of the time, Pearce would get a piece of bread and then eat it himself instead of throwing it to the ducks :)  We always go to this little bridge to see the fish and two big turtles that live there.

It was another great visit in Dallas....next up...Josh Groban concert in just a few weeks!  Mama and Papa, get ready for another visit from us!!

Foodie Kids

Today, Pearce and I met up with Gabriel aka "Bebel" as Pearce likes to call him, and his mommy, Lindsay as well as Baby Heidi "I-Dee" and Lindsay's mom.  We went to Foodie Kids which was the cutest place ever!  I had never heard of it, but so glad Lindsay invited us along!  Foodie Kids is a place where kids can cook and learn how to make all kinds of yummy snacks and foods.  They have special times for toddlers where you can just walk in and they help you make something.  The lady was so sweet and really got down on the boys' level and let them help as much as they could.  First, Gabriel and Pearce got to color a coloring sheet, then they got to put on an apron and start making the pumpkin pudding!  They each got to help put in the different ingredients into a big zip lock bag.  Then the fun part was throwing the bag around to mix up the ingredients.  Pearce and Gabriel really loved that!  The lady gave each boy a little cup and filled it up with the pudding and then gave them Halloween sprinkles to mix in...then they got to eat it!  I must say, it was actually pretty good!

Throwing the bag to "mix" it up!

Baby Heidi had fun watching all the action.  Pearce LOVES "I-Dee"!  He kept going over to wipe her mouth or kiss her toes :)

I think Pearce is thinking "When is the pudding going to be ready?"

Yummy!!

Barton Hills Farm

Today, Pearce and I met Christie, Mike, and Ridley at Barton Hills Farm Fall Festival.  It was sooo much fun!  It was a bit of a drive...took us almost an hour to get out there, but it was worth it.  We had perfect weather with a cool breeze, and there was just enough for the kids to do without it being overly crowded.  Actually, the main thing Pearce loved was the wide open space to run around in!  There were adorable goats to pet and feed, a pumpkin patch, a barrel train ride, a corn maze, a big "pillow" bounce thing, and good food and good music....perfect!

*See that pic above with the pumpkin he's holding....see the pic below....I bet you can guess what he did with that pumpkin he WAS holding :)
