Holiday Fun!

Pearce has been one busy boy this holiday season!  Aside from going to see Santa and going to different neighborhoods to look at "yights," we have been on a Steam train, done holiday crafts with his little friends, and visited Austin's new children's museum....which isn't really holiday related, but it was still fun!

The Austin Steam Train Polar Express was so fun!!  We went with three other couples and their kids and it was perfect because we rented a party room and the kids could walk around, play, eat snacks, look out the windows, and just have fun being together.  Pearce wore his Christmas pj's and we made jingle bell necklaces for everyone...Pearce still wants to wear his necklace :)

Pearce and I got together with some girls from my play group to do a few Christmas crafts.  One week we made snow globes using peanut butter containers.  We filled them halfway with water, then put a squirt of dish soap in, food coloring, and glitter.  And voila!  Shake it up to see bubbles and glitter, stack it, roll it....throw it :)  That day we also made gumdrop trees using styrofoam cones, toothpicks and gumdrops.  Pearce really concentrated on this one.  The next week we decided to make gingerbread houses out of graham crackers and milk cartons.  This was definitely messy, but oh so fun!  The kids almost ate more than they put on the houses.  Pearce was in heaven with all of the frosting and candy!!!

Last week, I took Pearce to our new children's museum, The Thinkery.  We had the best time!!  So many fun things to do.  Pearce's favorite was the water play area.  We did this at the end and I'm so glad I brought an extra change of clothes because he was soaked!  In the last picture, he was a little upset with me that I made a big bucket of water splash him.  I thought he would love that part...he didn't :(

Mall Santa

Today, Chris and I took Pearce to the mall to see Santa there.  I got him all dressed in his Santa best and we kept taking about going to see Santa and what he was going to ask him to bring him.  He was sooo excited!  Well, as soon as it was our turn, I got him out of his stroller and Pearce's grip on me got tighter and tighter as we walked up to Santa.  He started to cry a little, but was brave and told Santa, "Santa, I want a vacuun."  Santa said "Oh, you want a vacuum!  Well, ok little boy!"  It was so cute!  I was very proud of Pearce for not crying and being a big boy!  He got a sucker and when he hopped down off of Santa's lap he said "Bye Santa!"  So sweet :)  We got a video and took some pictures with my camera and then ordered some, too...which is the last picture.  After Santa, we rode the train, rode the "horsies," and played a little at the play area.  We had such a fun morning at the mall with our little guy!

We always ride the razorback on the carousel, of course!

Santa!

We have been talking and talking about Santa and what Pearce would like Santa to bring him.  He says he wants Santa to bring him a "vacuun."  He is always wanting to use my vacuum, so it's about time he has his own :)  Tonight we went to a Christmas party at my friend, Kristin's house.  Every year she has Santa come.  I could not wait to see how he would react to the real Santa!  Well, as soon as I started walking towards Santa, Pearce's grip on me got stronger and stronger.  When I put him on Santa's lap, he started to whimper and his little mouth started to turn down.  He was about to really cry, but he did manage to say, "Santa, I want a vacuun."  And then he was done :)  But what's funny is that on the way home, all Pearce talked about was Santa and he kept saying "Santa nice!"  Haha!!Tomorrow Chris and I are taking Pearce to the mall to see Santa...we'll see how that meeting goes!  I am just having the best time with Pearce during this holiday season!

Christmas pictures!

These are a few pictures my friend, Cari, took for me a few weeks ago.  I LOVE all of them!  I'm using the car picture for my Christmas card. This Christmas season is so much fun with Pearce at the age he is.  He loves all the "yights" and "Santa 'tuff!"

Thanksgiving 2013

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Dallas!  Pearce had so much fun playing with all of his cousins.  He is actually still in Dallas now....Chris and I left on Saturday and left Pearce with my parents until Tuesday.  He is having the time of his life right now!  So, back to Thanksgiving.  Ashley cooked an amazing turkey and we all just had fun being together.

On Friday, the girls had a shopping day in Canton, TX.  I had never been to Canton and was so excited to go.  We had the best time walking around and seeing all the vendors.  Me, Ash, and Jen all got a lot of cute Christmas decorations and few other little decorative things.  We felt kind of bad, because the point of going was to have a girls outing celebrating Mom's 70th birthday and Alexandra's 17th birthday.....but mom didn't even buy anything!  When we came home, we surprised her with a little "Movie Night."  Mom and Dad have tons of 8mm film strips of us and mom has been wanting to watch some again, so we planned for Daddy to get it all ready for when we came home.  The guys were already over at Mom and Dad's watching football, but they did their job and decorated the house, too.  Mom was so surprised and we had lots of fun eating a great dinner, having birthday cake, opening presents, and watching old home movies!
