First Day of School--3 year old class

Pearce had his first day of school today in the 3 year old class!  When I woke him up this morning, I said "Pearce, you get to go to school today and play with your friends!"  Pearce said "Mommy, I so cited!"  Last week, we went to meet his teacher, Ms. Carolyn.  When we walked in, Ms. Carolyn said hi to Pearce and Pearce immediately went over to her and gave her a hug!  She then asked Pearce if he wanted to look around the room and find some toys he liked.  He was off and playing in no time.  Pretty soon, several of his friends walked in.  Tre and Ruby were in his class last year and they are in his class this year, as well as Logan from our play group!  I was so happy Pearce was going to have several friends he already knew.  We stayed in Ms. Carolyn's class for about 30 mins and then Pearce gave her another hug and told her he would see her next week.  This morning, Pearce walked right in and almost forgot to give me a hug and kiss!  He then put his lunch box on the shelf and hung his backpack up and then went to play.  Ms. Carolyn told the parents last week that the kids are going to learn to be more independent this year....opening their own lunches and going potty at designated potty times...as well as pulling their own pants down and back up.  Pearce and I practiced opening his own lunch containers and pulling his pants down and back up....oh man, that takes work!  After I left Pearce, I was just hoping he would have a great day and not have his undies all bunched up when I picked him up :)  I came home and relaxed and cleaned the house a bit and then went to pick up my little guy at 1:00.  When I came to his room, he got so excited to see me and said he had a fun day!  In the car, I asked Pearce all about school.  He said they got to go to the "big room" to play and his best friends are Tre and "Wogan."  His favorite part was playing with play doh and he really loved his peanut butter and jelly sandwich.....ummmm....I packed a turkey and cheese sandwich :)  I checked his lunch box and the only thing that was left were his blueberries, so someone (hopefully it was Pearce!) enjoyed his turkey sandwich, LOL!  I also packed grapes and blueberries, a cheese stick, and a few vanilla wafers.  Oh, and his undies were not all bunched up :)  Pearce will go to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays this year.  I'm thinking about letting him do "Lunch Bunch" this year too.  That's where the kids stay until 2:00 and get to eat lunch, play and do a craft.  Thursdays are short and get out at 12:00, so Lunch Bunch would be GREAT for Mommy :)
