8 months old!

Pearce, how in the world are you already 8 months old?!  I think this month, you are going to keep me VERY busy!

This is what I want to remember about your 7th month:

*Your two bottom teeth have begun to come in....and I keep forgetting to brush them!
*You began crawling just last week!  At the beginning of 7 months, you would get on your hands and knees and rock back and forth.
*Last week, you also learned how to go from laying down to sitting!
*Size 3 diapers.  I had to get the extra absorbent/way more expensive diapers because you kept leaking through your regular ones at night and during naps!
*You wear 9-12 month size clothes.  You can wear 12 month size pants although the legs are a little long. You can also wear some 12 month size shirts.  You can still wear 9 month sizes, but they are getting snug :)
*Last night you laughed SO hard when I tore up pieces of paper!  I showed Daddy the video and he laughed so hard he was crying.  He watched it over and over :)
*You still take 7 ounces of formula.
*I try to give you at least 2 meals a day of pureed food.  Mommy makes all of your food and you have loved everything!
*Still spitting up...but not as bad.....fingers crossed!
*You got your first little bruise on your head when you bumped it on my dresser while crawling :(
*You cry when I take something away from you that you wanted to play with.
*You babble and scream and grunt and say "dadadada" all the time!  I'm trying to get you to say Mama.
*You still take a 2hr morning nap and a 2hr afternoon nap (more on that below).
*You go to bed around 8:30-9:00 and sleep until 8ish.
*On Tuesdays we go to our play group.  On Wednesdays we go to the library for story time. On Fridays (just for this month) I go to an exercise class and bible study class.  You go to the nursery and you have done really well in there!

You are such a happy, sweet, easy-going baby...most of the time!  Whenever someone comes up to us to tell me how cute you are, you smile at them and they always think it's so funny.  You really love to smile at the check-out people at the store.  The other day, we went to the vet to get Otis' medicine and the vets just kept talking to you and saying how cute you are.  You just kicked your legs and smiled.

We take evening strolls through the neighborhood now that it has gotten cooler.  I like to stop at the park and put you in the baby swing for a little play time.  The last couple times we have gone, though, you fell asleep!

Yesterday you would NOT take your afternoon nap.  This morning you did not want to go down for your morning nap....but you finally fell asleep after lots of crying.  OH MY LORD.....I think you have a bit of a mischievous side and I'm just now seeing that!  Happy 8 months baby boy!

Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet!

Today, I went with my friend Christie and her husband to a pottery painting place to make a Halloween plate for the babies.  She had seen this idea on Pinterest.  It was kind of stressful because I am NOT artistic in the least bit!  When I was teaching, I always had one of my kids draw pictures for activities, because a first grader is more artistic than me!  And, I do think I have nice handwriting, but definitely not while painting!   But, it really was fun and Pearce was actually really good!  I didn't even think to bring his stroller for him to sit in while I painted, so he just had a little party on the floor...he's been doing that a lot lately :)  Christie's baby, Ridley, is just 8 weeks old!  He did really great, too.  I'm going to be so sad when Christie has to go back to work in a few weeks.  We've been doing a lot together lately.

Ridley's turn!

Mike is a good artist, so I asked him to make me some bats on my plate!

Finished product...what do you think?  I should have made the outline on the "ghosts" thicker, I should NOT have made my "m's" so big, and now I wish I had done all the writing in black.  Oh well, it was fun...hopefully it'll turn out cute when it's all fired and glazed.  Christie wants to go back and do Christmas plates.....eh...maybe :)

Pearce's first toothbrush!

Pearce's bottom teeth have come through!  You can see the left one really well and the right one is just peeking through.  So, of course we had to go get a toothbrush for those teeny tiny teeth!  I have since found out that I should have been brushing his gums BEFORE his teeth broke through...oops!  I expected to go to the toothbrush aisle and grab the one and only baby toothbrush which of course would come with toothpaste...uh, no.  There were several to choose from and I'm sure they are all the same, but I started comparing each one and reading about them.  And of course, I had to get something cute, too!  So I finally decided on a toothbrush, then I had to decide on the toothpaste...I thought I could get a "set", but no.  Now I can't even remember what I got, but it did have Thomas the Train on it, which I thought was cute :)  He is not quite sure about brushing his teeny tiny teeth, but it was fun watching him chew on it.

"See Mommy, you have to get way back there."

"Uh, ok, I really don't know what I'm talking about."

"Like this Mommy?"

"Hmmm....interesting."

"I'd rather just chew on this."

"Here, Mommy, get a picture of this real quick."

"Ok, Mommy, seriously...enough with the pictures and the high-pitch baby-talk."

iPhone Pics

Bye bye sleep suit.  Pearce now just sleeps in his sleep sack (wearable blanket) and jammies at night.

He loves to sleep on his side now and he always has to have his blankie!  When I get him in the morning, a lot of the time, I find him sucking on a corner of his blankie :)

So happy I'm his mommy!

My mom's group met at a bakery....3 of us wanted to stay a little longer but the babies were getting antsy...they were much happier on the concrete floor :)

New meaning to "nibbling on your ear."

"But Mommy, he doesn't care!"

Getting dog food and we stopped to watch the ferrets.

My house looks like Fall now!

Ready to cheer on the Hogs...too bad it was a horrible game and they lost :(

Pearce can no longer wear his 6 month size pajamas, so I got him some new ones...I love these blue terry cloth jammies!

New jeans and t-shirt....we are ready for Fall clothes now!
