Pearce's last day of Mother's Day Out

Today was Pearce's last day of school.  I have been so sad about this.  Yes, it has been really nice to have one day to myself, but mainly because his teachers have been sooo sweet!  Pearce has learned so much and he only goes one day a week!  I loved going to pick him up and peeking in his room to see him sitting at the table playing with play dough.  I LOVED seeing his face totally light up the instant he saw me and the giant hug I always got!  He always loved to show me the stamp he got that day.  I loved asking him about school and looking in his backpack to see what little surprise is in there....a hand print turned into an elephant, a book order form, a shape that he decorated....   The list could go on and on.  We have had a great year and I am just so thankful I found this little nursery school!

The teachers' gifts.  I got them each a card, a box of candy, a small can of coke, microwave popcorn, and a movie gift card.  They deserve it!

And then Pearce started running around and fell and skinned his knee...the picture taking went downhill from there....he kept holding up his shorts even though I put a bandaid on his ouchie :)

Pearce's teachers gave me a bunch of things to take home from the year, including his class picture.  The girls were missing on this day!  I love this so much!!

Bluebonnet Pics 2014

Several weeks ago, my sweet friend, Erin, took these gorgeous pictures of Pearce and I in the bluebonnets.  If you live in Texas, this is something you do every year when the bluebonnets come up!  Unfortunately, Chris was out of town this weekend, but we went ahead and did our photo session.  I love these pictures and think Pearce looks so handsome!!  Thank you for your patience with us, Erin!!!

Mother's Day 2014

Happy Mother's Day to my mom!  Mom, I love you so much and hope that I am half as good of a mom as you were and still are to us!

This Mother's Day was so much fun for me!  Chris asked what I would like to do and I said go to the zoo in Waco!  I really wanted to do something as a family and had heard that this was a great zoo, so I said, let's go!  Since I was already in Dallas, Pearce and I met Chris in Waco Sunday morning.  The only problem we ran into, was that the zoo didn't open until 11:00 and we got there a little before 10:00...oops!  So, Pearce and I just went to McDonald's and got breakfast and he played, no big deal!

Then we finally headed to the zoo.  Pearce got in free because of his age and I got in free because it was Mother's Day...score!  We just followed the paths and it was just perfect.  There was a nice cool breeze and it was overcast.  Pearce walked pretty much the entire time.  He was so happy just walking ahead of us and stopping when we got to an animal.  He kept saying "I not ready to go hone."  The otter exhibit was really cute because you could see them swimming and then there was a clear tube slide that went through their enclosure which Pearce did over and over!  We stopped for a drink and a push up, and then went to find Dumbo.  Pearce kept asking where was Dumbo, so when we finally got to the elephants, he was so excited.  It was fun, because the elephant was right by the edge of the fence, reaching over to get leaves off of the trees.  When we finally convinced Pearce to move on, he got a leaf off a tree and took a little nibble like "Dumbo!"  Chris took Pearce to the gift shop at the end and told Pearce he could pick out one animal....he said he wanted "Simba."  Pearce sure does love his Disney movies!  That night, Chris gave me my card and two gift cards.  I LOVED my card and started crying.  Chris signed it from him and Pearce and Otis and Sissy :)  Thank you Chris for a wonderful Mother's Day and thank you Pearce for making me your mommy.  I love you both!

"I'm so glad you love me with all of your might!"

Charlotte's 4th Birthday

This past weekend, Pearce and I went to Dallas to help celebrate Charlotte's 4th birthday.  We first made a stop to see "Me-Maw".  I just love that Pearce calls Grandma "Me-Maw"!  Pearce is always so sweet to Grandma.  After a nice visit with Grandma, we went to eat lunch at a cute market.  Pearce got a chicky leg, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese.  He ate quite a bit then Mama found him a cute little shopping basket and he had fun pushing it around while Mom and I finished eating.  Then we went back to Mama and Papa's house and boy did Pearce have fun there!  It started raining, so naturally, Mama took Pearce outside to play in the rain!  Before long, Pearce was soaking wet from stomping in mud puddles...Heaven for a little boy!

Friday, I brought Charlotte and Pearce back over to Mama and Papa's house to play while Ash got everything ready for the party.  They had the best time "cleaning" on the porch.  Mom gave them each a Windex bottle with water and they were both just squirting away...it was so funny to watch!  Then we got to go watch Nathan at baseball practice.  Pearce loved watching him and Nathan was very proud to show Pearce off and even try to teach Pearce how to catch the baseball :)  That night Nathan, Charlotte, and Pearce got to watch Frozen while Ashley and I finished getting everything ready for the party.

Saturday was the big party day!  Charlotte had a princess dress-up party.  All of her little friends came dressed in their favorite dress-up outfits, plus Ash had all of Charlotte's dress-up clothes laid out for the girls to change into if they wanted.  There were purses, necklaces, hats, gloves, sparkly dresses, and a full length mirror for the little girls to admire themselves in!  It was adorable!  Some of the girls even tried to get Pearce all dolled up, but he wouldn't participate too much :)  Ash gave all of the girls little tea cup straw cups and they made a cute little tea cup magnet.  We had lots of good food, but Pearce was DYING for a cupcake.  I tried to hold him off until it was time for everyone to eat one, but I caved when I saw him lift the lid off the container, which was on the counter, and get a lick of icing!  So, as soon as I gave him a cupcake, he was one happy little guy.  They all played and played and then after the little girls left, Wayne cooked us some great burgers.  Pearce and I went back to Mama and Papa's house to spend the night.  Mama asked Pearce if he wanted to play in the hose....ummmm....YES!  He kept wanting me to make him a puddle to splash in.  Pearce loves the water!  Charlotte, thank you for inviting us to your adorable birthday party, we had the best time!!!!

The day Pearce stole a box of cereal!

Going to the grocery store with Pearce is not my favorite thing to do with him.  He does love it when he gets to ride in the neat carts, but it's not long before he wants out or wants more snacks, or spills all of his snacks, or wants "m's" at checkout.  By the time I get out of there, I'm pretty exhausted and Pearce has usually shed a few tears.  Tonight I needed to run in to get just a few things.  He picked out the cart he wanted to ride in...always the pink one :)  Before I knew it, I was almost finished with the shopping and realized Pearce had been so nice and quiet the entire time.  I went to tell him he was being such a good boy and then found out why...apparently Pearce had swiped a box of cereal and nearly had it open!  I just can't believe I never saw him get it!  The box was pretty torn up, so I bought it....at least it is one of my favorite cereals!  I fixed him a bowl when we got home and it's now one of Pearce's favorites, too :)

Pops and Mimi come for a visit

I am way behind with this post!  A couple weeks ago Pops and Mimi came for a visit.  They helped keep Pearce while I went away for the weekend to a wedding.  I had so much fun at the wedding, but I did miss my little guy.  I knew he was in great hands with his daddy and Pops and Mimi, so I did not worry at all.  Pops has finally retired and for one of his retirements gifts from his surgical team, he got a gift card to Toys R Us to spend on Pearce.  Pops was always telling them about Pearce and showing them his pictures, so they all felt like they knew Pearce.  They knew what would really make Pops happy and I thought it was one of the sweetest gifts ever!  So, off we went to Toys R Us!  I decided a sand/water table would be the perfect new toy for Pearce because he loves to be outside and he always likes playing with sand and water.  So we found the perfect table and also got him a tee ball set.  I didn't realize how big the box was, so it was a pretty tight fit for Pops and Pearce in the back, but we managed! Pops wasted no time getting the table put together and pretty soon we were all outside watching Pearce play.  He has loved this table!  I have since emptied the water section and just put sand in both sides because he kept wanting to mix the sand and water and it just got to be a real mess :)  I swear, if Pearce could just stay outside all day, he would be one happy little boy!  We also got to celebrate Pops' birthday with an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins.  Pearce could not wait until it was time to light the candles and eat that cake.  I had some leftover party hats, so Pearce really loved that!  Pops and Mimi, thank you so much for taking care of Pearce and helping me so much.  We love it when you come to visit and can't wait until you come again.  Be ready to play outside!
