Say What?!

Pearce has said the funniest things lately!
1.  "Oh my dosh, Mommy."  Sometimes he will say "Oh dawd, Mommy."  We always tell him not say that, but it is kinda funny :)
2.  "So Daddy, how is your Mother?"
3.  "When I det older, can I have a beer?"
4.  "I have to doh poo poo...oh wait. It was dust a toot."
5.  "Det away, Mommy, I'm dangerous."  This was while he was playing with his superhero guys :)
6.  "You the best Mommy I eber had."
7.  "You look bootiful."
8.  "You my bestest friend."
9.  "I not gonna be your friend eber again!"
10.  "I can't move, Mommy, I boke my legs" as he's laying on the ground acting hurt while playing with his superhero guys.
11.  "When I say come here now, I mean come here NOW!"  Ummm....this is my fault :)
12.  This next convo happened at Target last week:  "Mommy, I hab to go poo poo right now!"  So we hurry to the bathroom from the back of the store all while he's holding his bottom.  We get to the bathroom and there are several women in there.  I take him into a stall and he says "Mommy, I need pricey."  So I go out and am holding the door closed.  Still, lots of women are in the bathroom.  Then he says "Oh man, my tummy's hurting."  *grunting, straining sounds* "My poo poo hole is hurting, I think this is gonna be a BIG poo poo!"  *more grunting and straining sounds as I look around and see women smiling and holding in their lIghter*.  "Mommy, when I finish going poo poo, can we still doh look at the toys?"  "Tummy's hurting......I did it!  Wook mommy!  That's a BIG poo poo!"  At this point there were about 5 ladies washing their hands and they all just died laughing...I about died of embarrassment :)
13.  "You happy, Mommy?  Smile with your teeth."  This is usually said when I have gotten on him about something.
14.  "Wook at my eyes, Mommy."  He says this when he's telling me a big story.
15.  "What the hake is goin on here?"
One thing's for sure....Pearce is ALL boy :)

The Days of Summer

Our summer so far has been filled with swimming, sports, outings, play dates, and a few naps :)  Pearce LOVES the water.  I would say swimming is one of his most favorite things!  We usually go swimming at least twice a week.

I signed up Pearce for his first sports class at the beginning of the summer.  His friend, Gunnar was doing it, and Pearce loves Gunnar, so I thought this would be a good first "class" for Pearce.  They learned the basics of volleyball, but did running drills and obstacle courses, too.  Pearce and Gunnar didn't do most things "right" but they had a great time anyway!  He went once a week for an hour for 6 weeks.  The classes just ended and his next class will be soccer (thanks GG!), but that's going to start in the Fall.

Pearce doesn't take regular, scheduled naps anymore, but ever since summer started, he's taken a handful of naps slept and slept later in the mornings :)

We've gone on lots of outings with friends including the new Bass Pro, the library to meet Captain America, splash pads, candy shops, and my new fave...Blue Hole!

Summer wouldn't be summer without a giant cup of blue shaved ice!

One new thing I've started doing this summer is letting my hair air dry and not using my hair straightener.  I've LOVED not having to straighten my hair each morning and I'm actually liking my natural waves!  Looking forward to a lot more summer fun with my sweet little boy!!

4th of July

We had a nice, laid back 4th of July weekend at home.  Chris had Friday off, so we just hung out at home together and then that night I got to go to a movie with my friends.  On Saturday, the 4th, we took Pearce to the mall to play at the bounce house, then we went to the food court to eat lunch.  Pearce chose teriyaki chicken and fried rice for his lunch!  We went home and rested before going to the park to watch the fireworks.  I had gotten Pearce some poppers that you throw on the ground to make them pop and I also got some confetti poppers where you pull the string and then confetti pops out.  He loved throwing the poppers on the ground, but when it came to the confetti poppers, he was too scared to pull the string :)  So Mommy did the confetti poppers!  Later, we got our cooler packed up and headed to the park.  The park has such a fun 4th of July celebration with bounce houses, giant slides, face painting, fire trucks, etc...  After we spread out our blanket, we waked around to let Pearce do some fun things.  He loved the fire trucks and the inflatable fire house where you could walk around inside.  At one point, I wanted to take his picture in the wooden stands where you put your head through and it looks like you're a fireman.  Well, he stuck his head all the way through and then could not get his head out.  I tried and tried but could not get his head out, then about the time that I thought this is a real problem, here come 4 cute firefighters to the rescue!  They worked on getting his head out and finally did it!  I totally wish I had gotten a picture of it all...it was pretty funny!  After that, we decided to head back to our blanket to wait for the fireworks.  We got Pearce a couple glow sticks and he had fun just running around with the glow sticks with all the other kids.  Finally, the fireworks started and they were great!  Pearce loved them!  On Sunday, I took Pearce swimming and he looked adorable in his patriotic swimsuit....thanks GG!!!

Dallas visit with Lisa and the girls/ Pops and Mimi visit in Austin

So, last weekend, Pearce and I went to Dallas to see Aunt Lisa and Taylor and Victoria.  We went a day early to go to Mama and Papa's pool because the club was having a pool party for grand kids.  So, I woke Pearce up at 7:00 am and put him in the car in his pj's and off we went.  Pearce stayed awake for the first 30 mins. and then slept the whole rest of the way!  We got to Dallas at 10:30!  Pearce was so excited to see Mama and could hardly wait to get his suit on to go swimming.  We got changed and off we went.  This pool party was sooo fun!  I loved seeing all these kids knowing they were there with their grandparents.  Pearce loved swimming with Mama and jumping in to her.  We ate lunch and got sno cones, too.  At one point, karaoke started and kids were singing their favorite songs.  Pearce kept asking if he could sing and I told him he couldn't because he would have to read the words, but he just would not give up and pretty much begged to sing.  So I asked him what he wanted to sing and he looked at me and said in an exasperated voice, "I want to sing the ABC song!"  So, I went and asked the DJ if Pearce could just sing the ABC song into the microphone and he said of course!  So, the DJ introduced Pearce and oh my gosh, it was the most precious thing.  He sang loud and proud and it was just adorable!  He didn't get all the letters right which is what made it so cute, but oh my goodness, he was so proud of himself and not the least bit shy!  Everyone clapped for him and I think I've watched the video about 100 times!  We swam a little bit more and then headed back so that mom and I could change and go to a movie.....our favorite thing to do together!  Lisa and the girls weren't getting to Dallas until Friday late afternoon, so Friday morning, I went and picked up Charlotte so she could play with us and Ashley could get her house ready.  Pearce was so excited to see Charlotte!  Mom made them each an orange julius and then mom yelled for me to come to the kitchen to see what had just happened.  Pearce and Charlotte had "helped" mom made them and they were both sitting on the counter.  When I walked in I hear them laughing and then Charlotte said "He did it."  On the ground was Pearce's orange julius splattered everywhere.  Of course!  Never a dull moment when Pearce is involved!  We then decided to get out of the house before anymore catastrophes happened and took them to an indoor play area.  Then we went to see Grandma.  Pearce and Charlotte "fixed" grandma's hair and we had such a nice visit with her.  Then we went back to Ashley's to wait for Lisa and Taylor and Victoria.  When they got there, the kids were all so excited to have the big girls!  We had so much fun catching up and swimming and playing.  Plus, we got to hear Victoria sing.  She has he most beautiful voice!  Like, she could def audition for The Voice or American Idol...it's that good!  On Saturday, we met up with mom at the mall to eat lunch and then shop!  Mama watched the little kids so that we could shop with Lisa and Taylor and Victoria.  Mama gave us the credit card, so we definitely had a successful day of shopping!  Pearce got to get his first real Lego set and was so excited to finally have one like Nay Nay's.  He couldn't wait to get back to Ashley's for Nathan to help him build it....which took Nathan about 5 minutes and it takes me about 50!  That evening Daddy brought us the best fried chicken and we just had the most fun swimming and playing and talking and acting silly!

My nieces, Taylor (holding Pearce) and Victoria, and my sister, Lisa....who is 50 years old!!!!  The Pearce genes are good because all of us sisters look younger than we are!

Pops and Mimi were in Dallas this weekend for a medical conference, so on Sunday, they came over to Ashley's for breakfast.  Then the best part is that Pearce rode back with them to Austin and I got to ride in a nice quiet car all by myself :)  Pops and Mimi stayed with us for a few days.  On Monday, I had the day to myself while they took Pearce to Luby's for lunch and then the bounce house!  On Tuesday, we decided to have a day of adventure!  We went to the Inner Space Caverns in Georgetown!  We got to go inside and tour the caves.  It was really fun and Pearce did so great with the hour long walking tour!  I was a little worried because the tour guide said you could not touch anything inside....but Pearce followed the rules!  Then we went to Hat Creek Burger to play outside and get lunch.  While we were there, we noticed a bunch of people swimming in the creek behind the restaurant.  So we decided to go explore there.  It's called Blue Hole and is part of the San Gabriel River.  Since Pearce didn't have a swim suit, I told him he could just put his feet in.....that lasted about 2 minutes before he was totally drenched!  It was so fun!  It was a quick visit with Pops and Mimi but we loved it!!
