Halloween 2016

Halloween this year was sooooo much fun for us!  Pearce LOVES all things spooky and all things Halloween.  Each year just gets more and more fun for Pearce during the Halloween season.  We love driving around neighborhoods and looking for houses decorated.  Pearce even started saying that houses were "party poopers" if they didn't have decorations up :)  We got to go to several Halloween parties and watch Pearce in his Halloween parade at school and I just loved seeing Pearce in his Darth "Bader" costume....he just looked so cute!!  For one party, I borrowed one of my friends' authentic German dresses and dressed as a "German girl" which was really fun.  GG came on Friday to spend Halloween weekend with us, too!  Pearce had been begging us to take him to Red Lobster to eat.  I honestly have no idea where he got the idea about eating at Red Lobster.  I think he saw a commercial for it because he kept saying he wanted to "Dive Into Red Lobster" LOL!!!  He would tell us over and over that he wanted to eat lobster and crabs and.....dolphins and sharks :)  So, when GG came, I knew that she would love to be able to take Pearce to Red Lobster.  Pearce was sooo excited!  We ordered the Ultimate Feast platter which had a little bit of everything for us...lobster tail, crab legs, and two types of shrimp.  Pearce tried a little bite of it all, but his favorite was the cheddar biscuits and the chocolate cake for dessert :)  I knew he wouldn't eat much of it, but at least he got to fulfill his dream of going to Red Lobster, hahaha!!  GG also got to go with us to a Halloween/birthday party he was invited to.  I mean, there is nothing cuter than a bunch of little kids all dressed in their Halloween costumes, running around.  One night, we took GG to a neighborhood that was known for their decorations.  This house is always decked out and so much fun to see.  Pearce and GG walked around the house and enjoyed looking at the decorations.  Then Pearce saw a man with two golden retrievers and yelled out to him "I like your dogs, my Mama and Papa just got a golden retriever puppy, may I pet your dogs?"  He said it exactly like that :)  These dogs were so sweet and one was already a trained therapy dog and the other one was in training.  Each time the dogs meet someone, they each put their paw out to shake hands!  So cute!  We drove around the rest of the neighborhood and then went to Sonic to get drinks..  Then we headed back towards our house to go to the car wash...the haunted car wash!  I saw an ad for the car wash by us saying they were running a haunted car was...get your car clean and get some screams :)  Oh my gosh, Pearce LOVED it!  The workers were all dressed up, the car wash was dark except for a few spooky lights, spooky music was playing, and as our car was going through the wash, scary guys would jump out at our car.  It was really fun!  Halloween day, Pearce was full of excitement.  GG even got Pearce a big hanging witch that made cackling sounds and her eyes lit up.  We hung her up in our front yard, and she looked great!!  Pearce kept asking if it was time to go trick or treating yet.  FINALLY it was time to get his costume on and pretty soon, kids started coming to our door.  Oh my gosh, Pearce got soooooo excited and was ready to head out the door without me!  We set GG up with a big bowl of candy and a chair outside our door so that she could hand out candy to kids while Pearce was out trick-or-treating.  It worked out perfectly.  My heart just about burst with love and thankfulness that I get to take my little boy trick-or-treating.  Seeing kids so excited and happy on this evening just makes me so happy and to have my own little guy to celebrate Halloween with.....it's just a dream come true.  Pearce had no problem at all walking up to houses and ringing the door bell and saying loudly "Trick or Treat!"  He almost always said thank you without me having to say anything :)  After Pearce got most of his bucket filled with candy, he decided it was time to go home and start chowing down.  He ate a lot that night, but really didn't overdo it.  He also shared with all of us, too!  Halloween this year did not disappoint!!  GG went with us to Pearce's school Tuesday morning and Pearce was so sweet to introduce GG to Mrs. B and show her all around his classroom :)  We gave GG big hugs and kisses and then she went back to Little Rock.  Thankfully, we will see her soon for Thanksgiving, here in Austin!  I loved that GG could come and spend Halloween weekend with us and see Darth Vader in action!!!

  1. Oh, my gosh!! It was my best Halloween EVER!! I loved everything we did. It was so much fun, and "Darth Bader" was so-o-o cute. I love that he's gotten to wear his costume so much, too. He loves dressing up! I had so much fun doing everything with him. Being his GG is the best thing in the world! Loved the trip to Red Lobster, and he did eat (and like) some of everything. Thanks to Chris for finally throwing the stinky crab claw away! LOL
XOXOX to my precious Darth Bader!
