Pearce cuts his hair, then takes a hike!

Last week, I was doing some laundry when Pearce casually came up to me with his art scissors in his hand and said "Wook Mommy, I cut my hair!"  He was just as proud as could be.  When I saw the chunk missing from the front of his hair, I flipped out and got so mad.  Pearce immediately started sobbing and said "I just wanted to be handsome."  Oh man, when Pearce cries because his feelings are genuinely hurt or he is genuinely sad, it totally breaks my heart.  I held him and told him I was not mad anymore, but that I would be mad if he ever did it again.  Honestly, you have to just laugh at this kind of thing....it's bound to happen at some point!  I took Pearce to get it fixed and it looks just fine now.....a lot shorter, but still as handsome as ever!

Sad that Mommy is mad :(

Happy that Mommy is not mad anymore :)

New haircut

Lately when we've been riding in the car, Pearce has been complaining about the sun being in his eyes.  He has lost all of his cheapie sunglasses, so I decided I wanted to get him these cute sunglasses I had heard about.  They're called Babiators (like "baby aviators").  Oh my gosh, they are so cute!  And if they get lost or broken, the company will replace them for free....worth the $20!  After we got the sunglasses, I decided to take Pearce to Bull Creek for a hike and to just play in the water.  We were there for several hours and we had the best time!  Lots of dogs were there swimming and playing, too.  By the time we left, Pearce was dirty and soaked, so he had to ride home "naked baby" but luckily, I did have a blanket in the car....I told Pearce to keep it on him, LOL!!!

"Mr. Cool"

  1. I adore the picture of "Mr. Cool". He's more handsome there than Tom Cruise was back in Top Gun! The picture of the poor disappointed baby breaks my heart, too. But, you're right! It's just hair and it grows back. At least he cuts his own hair, and not some snooty woman's precious little girl's (as Matthew did!). I love seeing him in Bull Creek with his walking stick!
