Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet!

Today, I went with my friend Christie and her husband to a pottery painting place to make a Halloween plate for the babies.  She had seen this idea on Pinterest.  It was kind of stressful because I am NOT artistic in the least bit!  When I was teaching, I always had one of my kids draw pictures for activities, because a first grader is more artistic than me!  And, I do think I have nice handwriting, but definitely not while painting!   But, it really was fun and Pearce was actually really good!  I didn't even think to bring his stroller for him to sit in while I painted, so he just had a little party on the floor...he's been doing that a lot lately :)  Christie's baby, Ridley, is just 8 weeks old!  He did really great, too.  I'm going to be so sad when Christie has to go back to work in a few weeks.  We've been doing a lot together lately.

Ridley's turn!

Mike is a good artist, so I asked him to make me some bats on my plate!

Finished product...what do you think?  I should have made the outline on the "ghosts" thicker, I should NOT have made my "m's" so big, and now I wish I had done all the writing in black.  Oh well, it was fun...hopefully it'll turn out cute when it's all fired and glazed.  Christie wants to go back and do Christmas plates.....eh...maybe :)

  2. Those are so cute! I think you did a wonderful job. You'll be happy you did those someday. Pearce and Ridley looked so cute, too. I can't believe that Ridley is already 8 weeks old! Gosh, time flies!! I know Christie will be sad when she has to go back to work and you all can't "play," but summer will be here before you know it.

    Love you,
    Lora
