Oh, my little Pearce.  He learned to write his name at the beginning of last month!  I had been teaching him here and there and I wrote his name on a piece of paper and stuck it to the fridge.  I would see him go over and trace the letters with his finger and we would say the letters together.  On this day, he sat down at his table and did it all by himself!  Now, he can write the letters in a straight line and I don't have to help him with the order of the letters.  It's so fun to teach him new things!

Pearce loves it whenever we have "workers" come to the house....the bug guy, landscapers, yard guys, and on this day it was the carper cleaners.  I had gotten several activities together to keep Pearce busy in the kitchen while they were here, but nope....this is where he sat the entire time.....just chatting away to the guys and asking all about what they were doing :)  Luckily, the guys were really nice to Pearce and enjoyed Pearce's questions and curiosity!

I was excited to take Pearce to see the new Jungle Book movie at the theater!  We went to the Movie House Eatery where you can order food and sit in a recliner....Pearce loved it!  He did cry in one part, where Mowgli had to leave his wolf-mom to go live with humans.  The wolf-mom said something like "No matter what, you will always be my son."  Right then Pearce buried his head into my arm and started crying.  I love his sweet, sensitive heart!!

At the end of April, we went to Dallas to celebrate Papa's birthday and then Ashley and I went to Fayetteville for a long weekend to see a few of our high school friends.  We had such a fun time celebrating Papa!!  Pearce stayed with Mama and Papa at the lake house while I was gone, and they told me he was soooo good and had such a fun time!  The lake house got lots of rain and the dock flooded, which Pearce loved!

Pearce and I joined a few of our friends from our play group at Sweet Berry Farm to do some berry picking last Friday.  We had so much fun!  We got a box full of strawberries and about half a box of blackberries.  Pearce and Eli had fun jumping on the big bounce pillow, riding the barrel train, feeding the goats, and just running all around!  I love going on little adventures with Pearce and Sweet Berry Farm is always a fun one!

Mama and Papa's Lake House

Mama and Papa just got a new lake house and I could not wait to go see it!  Pearce and I went last weekend to check it out.  First, we had to see Nay Nay and Charlotte!  We got there in time for Pearce to walk with Auntie Ashy and Charlotte to school to pick up Nay Nay.  Pearce was so excited to get to do this.  After the kids played for a while at home, we went for dinner at Chick Fil A.  They had so much fun playing together, and Ash and I had so much fun just sitting and visiting.  Pearce was soooo sad to leave them, but perked up once we got to Mama and Papa's house.  The next morning, we were off to the "Wake House!"  It didn't take long to get there.  Oh my goodness, their house is so cute!  We were both excited to look around!  They really did get so lucky because this house has everything they wanted....plus it came fully furnished.....with cute furniture and decorations!   They've changed a few things here and there, but, it's really so cute!  Pearce could not wait to go fishing and pretty much the whole weekend, that's all he wanted to do!  Papa got him a new Spiderman fishing pole, so Pearce was set!  He learned how to cast his rod out and reel it back in.  He caught several fish including a couple catfish!  It was pretty windy that weekend and storms were coming in, so the water was pretty choppy which made fishing not as successful as we wanted.  BUT, the great thing is that Pearce did not care if he didn't get any bites.....he LOVED just casting out and reeling in and walking all around the dock to find different spots to fish.  In fact, Saturday morning, Pearce woke up bright and early (which he NEVER does), and the first thing he said was "Can we go fishing now?"  We all caught several fish, though and just had so much fun!  Papa even took us to a different fishing spot on the lake and right off the bat, I caught a huge bass....I was pretty proud of myself :).  The other thing Pearce was so excited about was roasting marshmallows in the fire pit and making s'mores.  Well, Pearce loved the roasting part, but would not eat a roasted marshmallow or a s'more....which meant I ate a TON of them!  Papa also grilled us burgers which were so yummy!  Saturday, after more fishing and hammock swinging, Mama and Papa took us for a drive around the town and to see all the other lake communities and houses....which, I seriously loved theirs the best!  We went to eat dinner at a Mexican food restaurant that night and then back to the lake house to relax.  I will be so excited once Papa gets his boats so that we can take Pearce out on the tube and to eventually learn how to ski....I can't WAIT to go water skiing again!  Can't wait for summer and more "Wake House" fun!!!
