iPhone pics from April '16

Oh, my little Pearce.  He learned to write his name at the beginning of last month!  I had been teaching him here and there and I wrote his name on a piece of paper and stuck it to the fridge.  I would see him go over and trace the letters with his finger and we would say the letters together.  On this day, he sat down at his table and did it all by himself!  Now, he can write the letters in a straight line and I don't have to help him with the order of the letters.  It's so fun to teach him new things!

Pearce loves it whenever we have "workers" come to the house....the bug guy, landscapers, yard guys, and on this day it was the carper cleaners.  I had gotten several activities together to keep Pearce busy in the kitchen while they were here, but nope....this is where he sat the entire time.....just chatting away to the guys and asking all about what they were doing :)  Luckily, the guys were really nice to Pearce and enjoyed Pearce's questions and curiosity!

I was excited to take Pearce to see the new Jungle Book movie at the theater!  We went to the Movie House Eatery where you can order food and sit in a recliner....Pearce loved it!  He did cry in one part, where Mowgli had to leave his wolf-mom to go live with humans.  The wolf-mom said something like "No matter what, you will always be my son."  Right then Pearce buried his head into my arm and started crying.  I love his sweet, sensitive heart!!

At the end of April, we went to Dallas to celebrate Papa's birthday and then Ashley and I went to Fayetteville for a long weekend to see a few of our high school friends.  We had such a fun time celebrating Papa!!  Pearce stayed with Mama and Papa at the lake house while I was gone, and they told me he was soooo good and had such a fun time!  The lake house got lots of rain and the dock flooded, which Pearce loved!

Pearce and I joined a few of our friends from our play group at Sweet Berry Farm to do some berry picking last Friday.  We had so much fun!  We got a box full of strawberries and about half a box of blackberries.  Pearce and Eli had fun jumping on the big bounce pillow, riding the barrel train, feeding the goats, and just running all around!  I love going on little adventures with Pearce and Sweet Berry Farm is always a fun one!

  1. Oh, wow! Is there any of Papa's cake left??? That looks absolutely scrumptious!! I'm usually a pie person, but that's one of my favorite cakes. Mama made it look so-o-o good!

I love that Pearce is getting lots of lake time, and it looks like Papa has convinced him to wear a ball cap. Chris was never without one from the time he was a year old. He had a huge collection.

I remember Dianne and I taking the kids to the berry farm. I think they are more than they put in the basket (dirt and all!). But it was so much fun. We also made freezer jam with them. It's delicious and easy. Happy memories!

    Love,
    GG
