GG's Visit and Pearce gets his cast off!

We had such a nice visit with GG  while she was here!  Chis and I got to go enjoy his wok party at the ball field Friday night so she and Peace stayed home and played and watched a movie.  We also got to enjoy a surprise birthday party for Chis's boss on Friday night, so once again, we got a night to ourselves.  We enjoyed it and Pearce  REALLY loved not having to go to Kidspa!  On Saturday, we went on a little adventure downtown to see Popovich's Pet Theater Comedy Show.  It was at the Paramount Theater.  We went with Heather and Claire and had the best time together!  We went downtown a little early and ate at the Driskill Hotel.  Pearce and Claire thought it was so fancy!  They each got to order a special dessert and then we all walked to the Paramount for the show!  It was a really cute show.  Pearce and Claire loved it!  The show had all kinds of animals doing tricks, but what was neat was that they were all rescue animals.  It was really a fun night and showed me that going downtown is not scary at all!  Sunday we met a few of Pearce's Kindergarten buddies for a playdate. We've been meeting as much as possible so that when Kindergarten starts the kids will see some familiar faces.  I've really enjoyed getting to know these kids and their moms!  It did not take long for Pearce to warm up and play hard with these kids!  We took GG to our favorite pizza place that night for dinner.  She loved it!  Monday morning we went for breakfast at IHOP and then took GG to the airport.  We had such a fun time with you, GG!  See you soon!!

Tuesday it was time to get this cast off!  It was seriously starting to smell!  The nurse showed Pearce the "saw" and showed him it doesn't cut skin.  She got to work and Pearce couldn't contain his giggles...the saw vibrated so much that it tickled!  After the cast came off, he got an x-ray of his arm and then we waited for the doctor to come in.  She said it looked great and is healing nicely.  She also gave him a copy of his x-ray for show and tell!  He will wear a splint for another month and then should be all healed up!  We did notice Pearce had a couple little sores on his wrist, so his cast must have somehow rubbed on that spot.  The sores are still there but have gotten a bit better.  Keeping my eye on those!  He's doing well with his splint and can take it off when he takes a bath or goes swimming.  Just praying we never have to deal with this again!!
