Fire Station Visit

Last week, our play group got to go to the Cedar Park Fire Station for a tour.  The kids were all sooooo excited!  When I told Pearce we were going, all he wanted to do was to drive the fire truck :)  It was a rainy day, but that didn't stop us, and what a perfect opportunity for Pearce to wear his red fireman rain boots!  We stopped at Dunkin Donuts on the way to pick up a box of donuts for the firemen and a few munchkins for us :)  When we got there, the kids had fun hanging out in the fire station and the row of recliners were a huge hit with them!  The firemen were all so nice and the mommies all really enjoyed talking to them :)  It was really interesting to see how they live when they are on duty.  We got a tour of their kitchen and living quarters.  Sadly, there was no fire pole to slide down or a Dalmatian dog :)  While we were getting a tour of the station, Pearce kept asking when we were going to see the trucks.  Finally it was time to go see the big fire trucks.  The kids were all just mesmerized by them.  They got to climb inside them and explore all around.  Pearce loved "driving" the truck, too!  The kids got to try on the fire gear and one of our moms, Jackie, got to put the whole thing on.  One fireman told the kids to bang on the fire helmet to see how hard it was...they loved that!  At one point, Pearce asked if he could talk to one of the firemen.  I asked Pearce if I could take a picture and he said yes.  As soon as the fireman came over and started talking to Pearce, he got sooooo shy.  He very shyly showed the fireman his shirt he wore.  When I told Pearce to smile for the picture, he could barely look up and smile....but it was from being so excited...it was the cutest thing!!  They were all so nice to our group of kiddos and we all just had the best time!

  1. My favorite pictures are the one with the hat on, and the one where Pearce is with the fireman and Pearce is so shyly looking practically through his upper eyelids! It's so funny because sometimes he's so shy and other times he doesn't meet a stranger. I'm glad you all had a fun day. Love that shirt and those boots!

    Love,
