Random iPhone pics

This might be my new favorite picture of Pearce :)  This is when he first woke up from a LONG nap....actually, I woke him up after he had been asleep for 3 hours!  He was not ready to wake up.  Chris said this is his first "hangover" picture...haha!

We tried out a new park last Sunday called Play For All Abilities Park.  It was designed for special needs kids, but anyone is welcome.  They had the neatest play equipment and it was huge!  Tons of kids were out, but it didn't feel crowded.  Pearce had a blast!

The swings are his FAVORITE!!  Man, I love that sweet little, happy face of his!

We had to take Otis and Daisy to the vet the other day.  All 3 puppies were pretty good :)

I took Pearce to Barnes and Noble for a little outing.  He had fun playing with the trains...sort of.  See that long black thing he's reaching for?  Well, all he wanted to do was put that in his mouth.  I kept taking it away from him, but finally gave up.  He put it in his mouth and just sucked on it while he played with the trains :)

I was a nice mommy and bought Pearce a book from Barnes and Noble.  Right after I took this pic, he threw the book right out of the car!

Happy 8th Anniversary To Us!

Tonight we celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary.  We decided to keep it low-key and just go out to dinner...just the 3 of us :)  We could have gotten a sitter, but actually, we really did want to take Pearce with us.  We decided to try Brio which just opened not too long ago.  Pearce got so many comments from the waiters about how cute he is.  We were very proud :)  We had a great dinner and Pearce enjoyed little bites off of our plates.  He also enjoyed playing with the ball of pizza dough our waiter brought out!

Happy Anniversary, Chris!  I love you!!

Pearce, what are you up to now?

Although I said I wasn't going to do monthly updates like I did for his first year, I do have some things that I definitely want to remember about this month.  So, maybe I will still do monthly updates...who knows!  Anyway, Pearce is now 13 months old and soooo much fun!  I know I always say that, but he just gets more and more fun each day!  Here are some things I want to remember:

*You weigh 23.2 lbs.
*Still not walking :(  I am so ready for you to walk, but I know you will do it when you are ready....will you just try to hurry up, though?  In the meantime, you get around just fine with your speed crawling!
*Size 12-18 month clothes.
*Size 5 diaper

*I am seeing more of myself in you.  You definitely still look like Daddy, but I am seeing some of my expressions in you, and I think your eyes are looking more like mine.  'Bout time!
*You still love your blankies!
*You have quite a vocabulary!  I was wondering when you would start saying real words and it was just after your first birthday.  Your first word was "hot."  Now you say:  Daddy, hot, Sissy (which is what we call our dog, Daisy), cheese, uh oh, doggy, see.  You also babble and talk baby-talk constantly!  Still waiting for you to say Mommy or Mama.

*You understand lots of commands, like brush your hair, brush your teeth, where is the car, where is the doggy, go get your blankie, etc...
*You LOVE to climb stairs and when coming down, you will go right to the edge of the step, then turn around  and go down on your tummy.  I taught you how to do that :)
*You can't STAND it when I wipe your face or nose or hands :)

*You LOVE all doggies and get so excited when we see one.
*Speaking of getting excited, you get really excited when Daddy comes home!  You squeal and kick your legs and can't crawl fast enough to him.
*If you could stay outside all day, you would be happy!  You point to go outside.
*You are usually a very happy little guy and smile all the time!
*At bedtime, after I give you your bottle, I hold you and tickle your back and you will just lay your head down.  You also love it when I rub your head.  Then I hold you like a baby and tickle your face and point out your eyes, nose, hands, and fingers.  You love to be loved on :)

Our visit to Little Rock

Last Thursday, Pearce and I had an adventure flying to Little Rock to visit Pops and Mimi and to surprise GG after her knee surgery.  I was so worried about flying with Pearce because he is so much more active now than the last time we flew.  Chris was already out of town, but was going to meet us in LR.  I prayed for a smooth flight and thank goodness that's what I got!  He was such a good little traveler!

"Don't worry Mommy, I will be a good boy."

Pearce LOVED looking out the big windows at all the vehicles and planes.  I love this picture.  It reminded me of when Ashley and I were little and Daddy would take us to the airport to watch the planes take off.  We loved doing that together.

And this was my baby boy during most of the flight.  Chris got us a flight where we didn't have to change planes, so Pearce just snoozed for the first flight and a little bit of the time while we were in Dallas waiting to take off again.  He did wake up midway through the final flight to LR, but he just had the best time talking to me and looking out the window and charming the flight attendants :)

We were so excited to see Pops and Mimi!  They took us to one of my favorite places in LR...Shorty Small's!  I had the best cheeseburger and Pearce was in french fry Heaven.  He was seriously shoveling them in his mouth!

Pearce loved his new high chair Pops and Mimi got him!  We just have a compact high chair, so this was big time to him!

On Friday, we went to The Wonder Place.  It's a play area that is just for kids ages 8 and under.  It had a great toddler play area, plus lots of other rooms that had all kinds of discovery-type activities.  There was a water table, a sand table, a "vet" with lots of stuffed animals, just tons of hands-on fun!  We loved playing and exploring!

Pearce can pick out Daddy in all pictures.  Here he is showing Mimi "Daddy."

Chris finally made it to LR Friday night.  We surprised GG with Pearce...and me too, but she was REALLY excited to see Pearce!  It was great.  He was definitely in a big way during that visit.  GG shared her vanilla ice cream with Pearce...he sure loved that!  GG is feeling a lot better now that she's out of the hospital.  GG, you better get that knee in tip-top condition because Pearce may be walking pretty soon and you'll have to chase after him when you visit!

Oh the fridge.....Pearce could "play" in the fridge all day if I let him.  He really doesn't knock anything over, just likes to look and touch everything in there.

When he started grabbing for the wine, we decided it's probably best to close the fridge :)

"Look Mommy, I can make silly noises in this thing!"

"It doesn't taste very good, though."

Get Well Soon, GG!

We are hoping our GG feels better soon.  She had knee replacement surgery yesterday.  Hopefully each day she will feel better and be ready to play with Pearce!  She came to visit us during Valentine's Day weekend and I'm just now getting the pics on the blog....oops!  Pearce was really showing off and acting so silly for GG!  He would sit up and then slowly fall over.  He thought it was so funny!  Then he started getting up on all fours!  Of course, GG brought Pearce a Valentine surprise.  He loved his cookie...and sharing it with GG :)  He also loved rubbing the crumbs in his hair which got him a trip to the bath tub! It was such a pretty weekend so we went outside and took some pictures.  That shirt was Nathan's from 5 years ago!  Thanks Ash!  GG, we hope these pictures will bring a smile to your face.  We love you!!

I love this face Pearce makes!  He really has the funniest expressions, but this one is my favorite!

Fun at the Park!

Pearce LOVES to go to the park.  Last week we went to the Elizabeth Milburn Park and it was so fun!  There's a great playscape that he can play on and several baby swings.  It was a perfect day.  I brought our lunch for us and he just played and crawled all over the place.  He did not throw a fit when we left...probably because he was so exhausted!

Sweetest face in the world!

"Look Mommy, leaves...."

"Mmmm....yummy leaves!"
