My Yummy Feet

Pearce has been grabbing his feet for the past week, but just today he started bringing his feet and toes to his mouth!  It is so funny to watch!  Edie first noticed it this morning.  Then, I was changing his diaper and he was turning on his side so that he could get his feet and toes!  I brought him to the living room and put him on the floor and we all just watched him chow down on his yummy feet!

"How To Eat Your Feet"
By:  Pearce Parnell

Step 1:  Stretch.

Step 2:  Roll on your side.

Step 3:  Grab your fat foot with your fat hands.

Step 4:  Chow down.

"Mmmmm...who needs a bottle when I've got a foot!"

Sweet baby boy!!!

Planting Flowers

Cliff and Edie are here visiting for a few days.  Edie loves to plant flowers and my front flower bed looked awful, so we went to Lowe's yesterday and got some new flowers to plant!  Our yard guy was supposed to plant some things for me, but I asked him several weeks ago and he still had not done it, so we did and I love how it turned out!

This is a pot in one of the front flower beds and I used to have Salvia in it.  It came back this year and grew pretty tall, but I decided I wanted something that would grow lower and I wanted some color.  The plant in the back is a Plantain Lily and the two in front are called Pow Wow Wild Berry Coneflowers.  It looks really pretty now!

In the middle of our yard, we have a large section that had some things planted, but it just looked kind of sparse and there wasn't a whole lot of color.  We pulled up the old stuff and planted Pentas, Lantanas, and Hostas.

This is the Hosta.  I hope I keep it alive and it blooms!

One of the Lantanas.  Lantana has always done well in this flower bed so I hope this yellow one really grows!

I love Pentas!!!  They always attract butteflies.

I think my yard looks so pretty now!!  Thank you for helping me Edie....I hope I can keep all of this alive!

Pearce, Daisy, and new toys!

Pearce received a big box of goodies from our friends, Sully and Jill and their little girl, Ava in S. Carolina.  He got several cute outfits and some new toys!  He doesn't have many toys yet, so it was fun to let him "play" with them.  We got out the blocks last night and I put him in his Bumbo seat and some of the blocks on his tray.  He loved chewing on them and then I would stack them up and he would knock them down!  I guess we were making a lot of noise so Daisy came to see what we were up to.  Then she brought her favorite toy and put it on Pearce's tray!  She just sat there and watched Pearce play with the blocks, then she would nudge her toy on the tray.  It was so funny to watch!  Daisy is pretty crazy sometimes, but a lot of the time, she amazes me with how smart she really is!  If we say, "Where's your toy?" she'll go get her pink Kong which is her favorite.

Drum set and instruments, car keys (which he loves to chew on!), and blocks!

"Are these for me?"

Daisy brought her toy in and put it on Pearce's tray :)

Here she is nudging it for Pearce to grab.

I have a feeling Pearce and Daisy are going to be buddies!
"Alrighty....I'm ready to go to bed now."
Below are some pics I took a few days ago of Otis and Daisy.  We were all being lazy on this particular day  and they would not come out of the closet!
See those clothes Otis is laying under?  Those are my cute tops that ALWAYS have dog hair on them.   Daisy prefers the dog bed, and Otis prefers walking through my tops and laying down right under them.  He loves that spot, so I just have to always remember to do the lint roller if I wear one of those tops :)

Sweet Daisy girl.
Our first baby, Otis.

Our Week with GG

We always love it when GG comes for a visit!  Pearce gets spoiled with lots of lovin' and I get to take long showers, put on makeup, straighten my hair, go to the gym, clean the house....all the things I love to do, but hardly ever have time to do them properly!  We did lots of shopping, of course, and just had fun being together!  Oh, and the other big news is that Pearce laughed for the first time while GG was here!  Daisy was acting all crazy, and running around.  Pearce was sitting in my lap on the floor and all of a sudden, he started laughing!  He did it so much, that I told Chris to video it.  Well, of course as soon as Chris started filming, they both stopped.  It was the sweetest sound and I'm so glad Lora got to hear it!

GG came on Pearce's 4 month birthday, so of course she brought him a birthday cupcake!

"Hmmm....what is this?"

"It's for me?!"

"I've seen Mommy eat these!  It's a cupcake, I like cupcakes."

"Why did you take it away?"

"Why can't I eat it?  Give it back!"

"But I want it!!!!!"

"My life is over."

"Look guys, I was just kidding.  I not a cry baby."
GG got Pearce his first Johnny Jump-Up.  At first he was a little unsure about it, but he definitely got the hang of it!  He loves it now!

"Instead of jumping, I think I'll just chew on it."

"Alrighty, think it's time for a nap now."

I was so excited that my friend Carly and her husband were in town from Oklahoma!  She and her husband, Thomas stopped by on their way back home.  I used to teach with Carly and have missed her soooo much! She was always so encouraging during our struggle to have a baby.  She would always pray for me, so I loved that she could finally meet the little guy she prayed for!
"You're pretty.  I like pretty girls."

"Yeah, I know I'm a pimp."

Otis LOVED Thomas!  He hasn't gotten that excited to see anyone in a  LONG time!  Good thing they love dogs!!

Cutest couple in the world!!
GG bought Pearce all kinds of cute summer clothes!  This is one outfit.  I thought he looked so cute in these shorts and t-shirt and little tennis shoes!  Of course, we had to take more pictures :)

I mean, seriously...how cute is this hat GG got him!

Me and my boy.

GG loved reading to Pearce in his nursery.  Pearce has really started to get interested in books and looking at pictures.  This book he loves because it lights up and plays music!

"Here GG, let me help you turn the page."

"Mommy, she's going to read it to me AGAIN!"

"I love you GG."
I had been wanting to find something to keep some of his books in.  When I mentioned this to Lora, we went on a hunt!  The space is pretty small, so I thought it would be kind of hard to find something.  Well, we  went to Pier 1 first and right away saw this and loved it.  It was also on Clearance!  We went to Target to look too, but decided this was perfect!  The drawers are deep enough to fit a good amount of books and it matches the nursery perfectly!  Pearce just received a drum and musical instruments from some friends of ours, so we thought it looked cute on top.

I just love this!!  Thank you so much, Lora!

GG, we had so much fun with you.  There really is nothing better than watching someone love on your baby.  We can't wait for your next visit.  We love you!!!
