So, last weekend, Pearce and I went to Dallas to see Aunt Lisa and Taylor and Victoria. We went a day early to go to Mama and Papa's pool because the club was having a pool party for grand kids. So, I woke Pearce up at 7:00 am and put him in the car in his pj's and off we went. Pearce stayed awake for the first 30 mins. and then slept the whole rest of the way! We got to Dallas at 10:30! Pearce was so excited to see Mama and could hardly wait to get his suit on to go swimming. We got changed and off we went. This pool party was sooo fun! I loved seeing all these kids knowing they were there with their grandparents. Pearce loved swimming with Mama and jumping in to her. We ate lunch and got sno cones, too. At one point, karaoke started and kids were singing their favorite songs. Pearce kept asking if he could sing and I told him he couldn't because he would have to read the words, but he just would not give up and pretty much begged to sing. So I asked him what he wanted to sing and he looked at me and said in an exasperated voice, "I want to sing the ABC song!" So, I went and asked the DJ if Pearce could just sing the ABC song into the microphone and he said of course! So, the DJ introduced Pearce and oh my gosh, it was the most precious thing. He sang loud and proud and it was just adorable! He didn't get all the letters right which is what made it so cute, but oh my goodness, he was so proud of himself and not the least bit shy! Everyone clapped for him and I think I've watched the video about 100 times! We swam a little bit more and then headed back so that mom and I could change and go to a movie.....our favorite thing to do together! Lisa and the girls weren't getting to Dallas until Friday late afternoon, so Friday morning, I went and picked up Charlotte so she could play with us and Ashley could get her house ready. Pearce was so excited to see Charlotte! Mom made them each an orange julius and then mom yelled for me to come to the kitchen to see what had just happened. Pearce and Charlotte had "helped" mom made them and they were both sitting on the counter. When I walked in I hear them laughing and then Charlotte said "He did it." On the ground was Pearce's orange julius splattered everywhere. Of course! Never a dull moment when Pearce is involved! We then decided to get out of the house before anymore catastrophes happened and took them to an indoor play area. Then we went to see Grandma. Pearce and Charlotte "fixed" grandma's hair and we had such a nice visit with her. Then we went back to Ashley's to wait for Lisa and Taylor and Victoria. When they got there, the kids were all so excited to have the big girls! We had so much fun catching up and swimming and playing. Plus, we got to hear Victoria sing. She has he most beautiful voice! Like, she could def audition for The Voice or American Idol...it's that good! On Saturday, we met up with mom at the mall to eat lunch and then shop! Mama watched the little kids so that we could shop with Lisa and Taylor and Victoria. Mama gave us the credit card, so we definitely had a successful day of shopping! Pearce got to get his first real Lego set and was so excited to finally have one like Nay Nay's. He couldn't wait to get back to Ashley's for Nathan to help him build it....which took Nathan about 5 minutes and it takes me about 50! That evening Daddy brought us the best fried chicken and we just had the most fun swimming and playing and talking and acting silly!
My nieces, Taylor (holding Pearce) and Victoria, and my sister, Lisa....who is 50 years old!!!! The Pearce genes are good because all of us sisters look younger than we are!
Pops and Mimi were in Dallas this weekend for a medical conference, so on Sunday, they came over to Ashley's for breakfast. Then the best part is that Pearce rode back with them to Austin and I got to ride in a nice quiet car all by myself :) Pops and Mimi stayed with us for a few days. On Monday, I had the day to myself while they took Pearce to Luby's for lunch and then the bounce house! On Tuesday, we decided to have a day of adventure! We went to the Inner Space Caverns in Georgetown! We got to go inside and tour the caves. It was really fun and Pearce did so great with the hour long walking tour! I was a little worried because the tour guide said you could not touch anything inside....but Pearce followed the rules! Then we went to Hat Creek Burger to play outside and get lunch. While we were there, we noticed a bunch of people swimming in the creek behind the restaurant. So we decided to go explore there. It's called Blue Hole and is part of the San Gabriel River. Since Pearce didn't have a swim suit, I told him he could just put his feet in.....that lasted about 2 minutes before he was totally drenched! It was so fun! It was a quick visit with Pops and Mimi but we loved it!!
