Mother's Day 2015

Oh, how I love Mother's Day!  I used to have a love/hate relationship with Mother's Day.  I loved celebrating it with my own mother and letting her know how much I love her and appreciate her, but for several years, I also hated it because I couldn't celebrate it for myself.  Mother's Day is so special to me because it is a day that makes me so proud.  I'm so proud of the title "Mommy" and I love that there is a special day just to recognize that title :)  I'm also so proud of the little boy that made me a mommy.  Pearce is an answer to my prayers and I am incredibly thankful that I was chosen to be his mommy!  I chose to spend this Mother's Day doing something fun together and then doing fun by myself.  I've been wanting to take Pearce bowling for a while now, so that's what we did.  We had so much fun!  He used a little ramp to send his ball down the lane.  It really worked out perfectly for him.  He also loved getting to wear the bowling shoes!  When we first started, he did start to get a little mad about the fact that he had to wait for his turn.  but Daddy explained all that to him, and then he was fine.  We bowled a total of 2 games and the last 5 minutes, Pearce got to bowl all himself.  He actually scored higher than me both games!  After that, we went home and then I got ready to go to a movie by myself.  I went to see The Age of Adaline.  It was really good, and being there with my coke, popcorn, and buncha crunch, was just Heaven :). Chris also surprised me with a new TV for our room!  I've been wanting one forever, so I'm very excited!  Pearce gave me a gift card to Panera and Dunkin Donuts...I think the DD one is more for him :).

  1. So glad you had a wonderful day! I understand how you feel. I think being a mother is the most important job I ever had. It was also the most fun and rewarding, in spite of some pain and tears along the way. It's not a job for sissies! I tried hard to be a good mother. And now I want to be a good grandmother to my precious little guy!
