Life Lately

We've been pretty busy lately....birthday parties, swim lessons, photo shoots, a bout of sickness, school, and just having fun together.  Pearce is at SUCH a fun age right now.  He definitely has a strong will and knows what he wants, but is also so, so sweet.  He still loves for me to hold him and love on him.  For no reason at all, he will just come up to me and say, "Mommy hold you."  I pick him up and he will just lay his head down on me and let me love on him.  He loves for me to rock him and scratch his back.  He's such a great balance of "all boy" and "baby."  I love that!

Gabriel's birthday party at the park.  Pearce had the best time playing and loved this little car!  Pearce looked so cute in his shirt from the Masters that his daddy got him last year.

Pearce hasn't taken afternoon naps for a while now, but every once in a while, he ends up falling asleep.  I can't believe how big he looks in his chair now!  He has loved his chair, but it used to be so big....I think it might be time for us to get him the bigger size!

I took Pearce to get his picture taken in his Easter outfit.  I just took him to JC Penny's because I had several coupons I could use and they usually do a great job.  I was so proud of Pearce because picture taking can be pretty stressful for me....but Pearce was smiling for the photographer before the photographer was even ready!  I really just wanted one good shot of him in his Easter outfit, but ended up getting several cute ones!  These are just pictures of the pictures, but oh my goodness, how cute is he?!  Grandparents, you will be getting these!  What makes these pictures even more amazing is that he woke up with a low fever this morning.  I already had the appointment set up and just did not want to reschedule, so I gave Pearce some Motrin and off we went.  But when we got home, he was feeling pretty bad, so I just made him a little bed on the couch and he just slept the rest of the day.

Two cute pictures of Pearce wearing Nathan's clothes.  I'm so thankful Ashley kept so many of Nathan's cute clothes!  Pearce ALWAYS puts up a struggle with getting dressed.  The only thing that makes it easier for me is when I can say "This was Nay Nay's shirt" or "These were Nay Nay's shorts."  If I would let Pearce just wear his undies all day everyday, he would be so happy :)

Last week, Chris and I went to Pearce's musical program at school.  He had been singing his songs all during the day at home, so we knew he knew the songs....we just couldn't wait to see if he would actually sing when he got up on stage!  His little class is so cute!  As soon as he got on stage, he just started smiling and waving to us and got a little shy, but then he got into it and sang so well!  The whole school participated in the musical program, but Pearce's class went first and just did two songs and then they left because it's too hard for them to sit through a long program.  After their songs, we clapped and clapped and he just had the sweetest smile on his face.  As his class walked out, we waved to him and he just kept looking at us.  When I picked Pearce up at school later that afternoon, the first thing he said to me was, "Mommy, you and Daddy clapped for me!"

Today Pearce and I had fun running around.  I didn't have anything specific planned for us this morning, except for a couple small errands.  We took it easy in the morning and then went to The Domain which is an outdoor shopping area.  I needed to make a return and then we just walked around.  There were a couple new play areas there that were fun for Pearce to play on.  We also found a new toy store there that Pearce just loved!  He kept picking up toys saying "Can I ask Santa for this?"  What was neat was that they had a nice play area in the back with lots of cool toys.  We stayed there for about an hour!  Then we were leaving and I saw an old fashioned candy store and Princess Anna was standing at the door, so of course, we had to say hi to Anna and then go look inside the candy store.  Pearce immediately found a lollipop (I always say "sucker" but Pearce says "lollipop") that he wanted, but I told him let's look around the whole store and then if he still wants the sucker lollipop :) then he could have it.  He walked around once and then got the lollipop!  He kept saying he wanted to go give Anna a hug and take a picture with her, so we paid, then went to see Anna and he immediately got so shy and would barely even look at her!  Pearce was very happy with his sweet treat, though :)

To Infinity and Beyond!

We had SUCH a fun day today!  Pearce and I slept in until almost 10:00!  Then we went outside and played in the rain for a while.  Then he watched a couple shows while I cleaned the house.  Every once in a while he would just come up to me and ask me to hold him and then would just kiss and hug on me.  I LOVE that he is so loving towards me and loves for me to cuddle and hold him!  Then we went to run a few errands.  We went to the mall so I could find him some sandals, but no luck.  I did find him two adorable outfits from Gymboree, though!  We were both getting hungry so I asked Pearce what he wanted to eat and he said, "Ummm, I would just wike to have chicken nuggets."  So off to Chick Fil A, we went.  He was such a good boy this whole day and I just had so much fun talking to him and being with him.  He ate all of his dinner and then all by himself, went back up to the Chick Fil A counter to turn in his toy for a free ice cream cone.  My big boy!  Then it was time to go, but we passed the Disney Store and he asked to go in.  We looked around for a while and then he found the Toy Story display and immediately picked up Buzz and started "flying" around the store with him and saying "To infinity and beyond!"  He took Buzz all around the store and looked at the other things.  We don't buy Pearce a lot of toys for no reason...usually just birthday and holidays.  He gets little things here and there, but not big things.  Whenever we go to Target or Walmart, he always asks to look at the toys, but he never asks to get anything.  If he sees something he likes or wants, he always says, "Can I ask Santa for this?" or "When I get older, can I get this?"  My answer is always "yes."  So, he always loves looking at the Toy Story toys and especially Buzz.  He has the soft, stuffed dolls of Buzz, Woody, and Jessie, which he loves, but he always says he would like the "real Buzz."  I had been thinking that maybe when school is out, I would get it for him as a reward for being such a good boy at school.  Anyway, when I saw him playing with Buzz tonight, I just thought, "What the heck, I'm going to get this for him!"  So, I called him over and said, "Pearce, would you like to take Buzz home?"  When I said that, his eyes got so big and he said, "You mean, I could hab him foreber?"  **His "v's are "b's" and his "y's" are "w's"**  I smiled and said "yes."  He immediately started hugging and kissing me and said "I always wanted a real Buzz, he's my fabit!  Wet's take him home!  To infinity and beyond (although he doesn't say this as clear, but I have no idea how to type it out!)!  I totally got teary eyed by his reaction.  He wasn't expecting it at all and his reaction was totally sincere and just sheer excitement.  We went to pay and was talking ninety miles a minute about Buzz and how he gets to go home with him and Buzz is his "best fwend!"  The lady that checked us out thought Pearce was so cute and funny and several other customers commented about how cute it was that he was so excited!  He could not wait for me to get Buzz out of his box.  As soon as I did, he tested out all of Buzz's lasers and voice commands.  I just love that Pearce still loves Toy Story and that he was so excited for this unexpected gift!

I was going through my pics on my phone and have a bunch of random ones I wanted to put on here.

Pearce is officially potty trained!  About a month ago, he decided he wanted to go to school with undies on.  I fully expected to pick him up in a change of pants, but he had the same ones on and went potty several times at school.  His sweet teachers, really worked with him and from that day on, he only had a few accidents!

Last month, Pearce went to the dentist and was sooo good!  He even got a special prize for giving up his BBs!

Pearce and I had fun exploring Trader Joe's for the first time.  He loved being able to push his own cart and only ran into the back of my ankles about 100 times :)

This is a cute St. Patrick's day shirt my cousin, Abba sent Pearce when he was a baby...finally got to wear it this year!

Just for fun, we went to Chuck E. Cheese one afternoon.  I spent way too much money there, but Pearce loved it!

Pearce reading his magazine in the car :)  Mama and Papa got him a subscription of this toddler magazine and he LOVES getting the new ones in the mail!

We got to babysit my friend Cari's newborn baby.

Several weeks ago, Pearce came down with a bad fever virus.  This was the first time in a LONG time that he had been this sick.  Very high fever...at one point it was 104, no energy, throwing up, and just wanting to sleep.  It really worried me and we even went to the after hours clinic after he was like this for a few days.  I knew he was really sick when he fell asleep in the car a few minutes after we left to go to the doctor!  Eventually, he got over it (only to come down with another stomach virus two weeks later!).  Although I did want him to feel better, I also loved the extra snuggles!

Pops and Mimi brought Pearce this Caribbean outfit from their cruise they went on!  Pearce loved it!  They came for a visit on their way back....unfortunately this was when Pearce came down with his second fever virus...but Pops and Mimi took good care of him while I had a nice little break :)

Pearce opening the Easter bag full of goodies from GG!  Lots of fun stuff in there that Pearce loved!

"Helping" Mommy hose off the porch to get rid of all the pollen.

Having fun at a new indoor play area that just opened...and then passing out from the 3 hours of fun!

I put Pearce to bed and then he told me he had to go potty.  So, got him out of bed and then he told me he needed "pricey" so I closed the door.  After about 10 minutes, I heard him talking to himself, opened the door, and saw this :)

Easter 2015

Our Easter weekend was perfect except for one thing...Chris got so sick and was unable to come to Dallas with us :(  Pearce had gotten sick the week before when Pops and Mimi were here and whatever he had, it was bad...fever, throwing up, no energy.  We were set to leave on Friday, but that morning Chris was throwing up and had fever.  I knew Chris wouldn't be able to go with us.  I was so sad about that, but at least he had a whole weekend to just do nothing.  He is just now feeling better!  We got to Dallas Friday afternoon and Pearce was so excited to see his cousins!  They played non stop!  They even went swimming a couple of times!  Nay Nay and Charlotte were brave and jumped right in to swim.  Pearce thought he was brave, but as soon as his feet got in, that's as far as he went...too cold for him.  But he talked a big talk :)  We decided to do our Easter dinner and egg hunt on Saturday because Sunday it was going to be raining...it worked out really well!  Ashley made the cutest little cheesecake bites with chocolate eggs on top.  I wish I had taken a picture!  We had ham, mom's yummy potatoes, Helen's yummy baked beans, rolls, and salad.  It was so good!  Ash and I stuffed 60 plastic eggs the night before and the kids could hardly wait for the egg hunt.  We hid them all and then it was time.  We told Nathan he could get 20 eggs and then stop and let Charlotte and Pearce get the rest.  They were off!  Pearce counted to 8 eggs and then declared he was finished and wanted to sit down to eat his candy :)  There were a ton more in plain sight right on the ground, but nope, Pearce was happy with his eggs!  After the egg hunt and candy eating, the kids wanted to go swimming.  Once again, Pearce was just begging to get in the pool.  I didn't even bother with putting on his swimsuit...just undies and his floatie.  He had fun standing on the first step of the pool and shooting everyone with the water gun...that was the extent of his "swimming."  After that we dyed eggs and it actually wasn't too messy!  Mom and Daddy and Grandmother left then.....and totally missed Nathan pushing Ash into the pool!  I talked Nathan into it and swore he wouldn't get in trouble :)  I videoed the whole thing, and it was hilarious!  Good job, Nay Nay!!  That night, all three kids slept together in Nay Nay's room and then woke up at 6:30 in the morning to see what the Easter Bunny left them :)  They all loved their Easter goodies and got busy eating the candy!  In Pearce's Easter bucket, he got a pair of pajamas, Iron Man, a superhero coloring book, bubbles, a chocolate bunny, a candy egg, and lots of other chocolate and candy.  It was fun putting his bucket together!  Then it was time to get everyone dressed...which is always a struggle with my little Pearce.  We finally got everyone ready and man, did the kiddos look cute!  I got Pearce a pair of blue and white seersucker pants, a white linen button up shirt, and a blue sweater vest, plus navy boat shoes.  He looked adorable!  Nathan looked so grown up in his blazer, button down shirt and a tie!  He totally knew he looked sharp, too :)  Charlotte had the cutest little light pink dress with tulle overlay.  She also knew she looked cute!  We got to church and met Mama, Papa, and Grandmother there.  We took pictures and then took the kids to their classrooms.  I knew Pearce would cry when I dropped him off in his room just because it was a new place and he didn't know anyone.  I felt so bad for him at first, but he had the sweetest young teacher in his room and when I handed over my crying little boy, she just held him and he laid his head down on her.  Poor little guy!  I knew he would be fine after a few minutes, but it still made me feel sad for him.  Charlotte walked right into her room, of course and Nathan got to go to big church with us.  It was a really nice service with lots of pretty music.  After the service, we went to get Pearce and Charlotte.  When I peeked into his room, he was happily playing and was so excited to see us.  His teacher said he did just fine!  We went back to Ashley's house and had leftovers for our lunch.  The leftovers were almost better than from the day before!  Nay Nay, and Pearce, and Charlotte just played and played.  When it was time for us to leave, Pearce was sooooo sad.  He breaks my heart when we have to leave his cousins.  He cried for about 10 minutes saying he needed Nay Nay and "Char-wet" and then went sound asleep for 3.5 hours and woke up 20 minutes before we got home!  He was worn out, but we had such a great time together!  Thanks for a great Easter weekend, Ash!!
