This past weekend, GG came for a visit for her birthday. She got here on Wednesday and Pearce was so excited when I told him she was coming! I got to have a few days to myself, which was nice. For GG's birthday, we went to the Austin Aquarium. This was the first time we had been to the aquarium and it was really neat. Pearce loved the room with the birds! After the aquarium we walked a few doors down to Kobe Steakhouse for GG's birthday lunch. It is so funny to see how much Pearce eats whenever we go there. He loved the soup, ate a ton of the fried rice, ate everyone's broccoli, shoveled the teriyaki chicken into his mouth, and STILL had room for chocolate birthday cake :) During this time, we had just started the potty training process (again) and Pearce was doing so well! Luckily, GG happened to bring several small presents for Pearce, so she used those to encourage Pearce with potty training....especially when she had him by herself. It worked! Pearce had just a couple of accidents, but for the most part, has done sooo well! The biggest hit was the gigantic bag of M&M's on Saturday night! More on potty training later! We went to the outlet mall one day so that I could exchange his Easter shoes for a bigger size. Of course, GG got Pearce the cutest swimsuit for summer. She also wanted to get him some swim shoes. When we were at the shoe store, Pearce saw some Spiderman shoes and immediately wanted to put them on. I let him put them on to avoid a fit, but then he fell in love with them :) I could tell GG was wanting to get them for him, but I said no because they wouldn't go with a lot of his clothes. GG said I can buy him the boring tennis shoes and she will buy him the fun ones and got them for Pearce! He was sooooo excited especially because they light up. He wore them out of the store and for the first time ever, kept his shoes on in the car and kept them on the rest of the night :) I mean, he LOVES these shoes...it really is so cute! On Saturday night, we had GG's birthday dinner at home. Chris made a great dinner and then we had cake. Pearce handed out the birthday hats, helped me light the candles, and then we sang Happy Birthday to GG. Pearce blew out her candles and then opened her present for her :)
Pearce, you made GG's birthday so much fun! I loved the Austin Aquarium visit. It was fun to feed the iguana, the sharks, and all the other fish, but my favorite thing was holding the Macau and the parakeets. It reminded me of my childhood pet parakeet, Mr. Peepers. You were so cute when the parakeet landed on your head! And, you weren't afraid either. I loved our lunch at Kobe Steak House, too. You really ate a lot, and you're the only one who successfully used the chopsticks! I especially loved our time together on Thursday and Friday when we gave Mommy her time off. It was fun to go on a walk with you and to play in the backyard. I know more about Curious George now than I ever thought was possible. It was so sweet to have a tea party with you. I'm impressed that you like Constant Comment hot tea. I wish I didn't live so far away and I could spend more time with you! You amaze me, you are so smart. But, best of all, you are so sweet and loving. GG is so thankful to have you in her life!!
ReplyDeleteXOXOX,
GG
PS
I forgot to tell you how proud I am of you for using the potty like a big boy! You were so good and deserved to be treated to the Spider Man shoes. Have you orn them to school yet?
