This afternoon, I took Pearce to the Georgetown square for their Christmas Stroll. This was one of the things on my list of Christmas activities I wanted to do with Pearce, so I was excited to see what it was like. We had so much fun!! There were TONS of booths with jewelry, clothing, crafts, etc... Plus several areas just for kids. The first thing we wanted to do was go see Santa! There wasn't a long line which was nice. The kids in front of Pearce started crying right when it was their turn to sit on Santa's lap. When it was Pearce's turn, Santa asked if he wanted to come sit on his lap. Pearce hopped right out of his stroller and went right up and sat on Santa's lap. He told him he wanted a "Kenai stick" (which is a walking stick from a movie he likes) a "puter", a basketball goal, and a candy cane. Pearce talked and talked to Santa, it was so cute! Then we went to a pizza stand and shared a piece of pizza. Next, we went to an area that had all types of work trucks, a fire truck, police cars, and a school bus. Pearce got up on every one to "drive" them. He really loved the trash truck :) He was also so excited to go on a real school bus, too. We walked on and I told him to find a seat to sit down on.....he looked and looked for the perfect seat and then found a seat with a "boom" (broom) and thought that was the perfect seat! Then he wanted to go see the police cars. A policeman walked up to Pearce and said, "Hi my name is Officer (can't remember his name), what's your name?" Pearce said, "Hi, my name is Pearce!" And the police officer put out his hand and Pearce shook his hand! Then he asked Pearce if he wanted to see his police car. Pearce ran over and hopped right in. Then Pearce saw the policeman's gun locked up in the back and asked if that's his gun. The policeman said yes. Then Pearce asked if he could hold his gun! Thankfully, the policeman said no, but that he could drive the car....Pearce was pretty happy with that :) He also got in the police ATV and loved that. The last vehicle he wanted to go on was the fire truck. He hopped right in and loved it. BUT, he got totally shy when a fireman came up and started talking to him :) I wanted to take his picture in front of the fire truck and the fireman asked if he wanted to sit with him. Pearce always put his fingers in his mouth when he gets shy and those fingers had a hard time staying out of his mouth :) I did get a cute picture though! We walked around for a while after that and rode a train, got a balloon sword, and a funnel cake. We were there for several hours and just had the best time. Pearce cried when he realized we were going back to the car :( We all slept in this morning so Pearce did not take a nap. On the way home, he fell asleep and when we got back home, as I was taking him out of his car seat, he barely opened his eyes and said "I not ready to go night night." I put his pajamas on him and put him in bed and he was out....at 6:30!
Wow! What a fun time! I wish I had been there. When Chris was Pearce's age, he loved the garbage trucks, too! He would stand at Grandma's front Windows and wait for them. They would wave at him and he'd get so excited. He said he wanted to be a garbage man when he grew up. Thank goodness he grew out of that! Pearce looks so happy exploring these things. You are the best mommy!
