After Thanksgiving in Little Rock, we came through Dallas to see my parents AND to leave Pearce with them for a few days! We spent the night Saturday night and left to go back to Austin on Sunday. They had Pearce until Thursday when we met in Waco so that I could get him back. Chris and I did not worry AT ALL about Pearce. We knew they would take such good care of him, that he would have a great time, and that they would have fun with him! We called each night to check on him and each time mom would tell me that he did not miss me at all, hahaha! They said he was such a good baby, he stayed on his schedule (thanks to Daddy), had fun playing with his cousins and visiting Mama and Papa's friends. I had fun running errands, Christmas shopping with Chris, re-decorating my guest bathroom, staying up late, sleeping late, etc.... He began pulling up while he was there. They also taught him how to hold his own bottle! He LOVED playing with Cookie and feeding her his Cheerios :) Nathan and Charlotte and Auntie Ashy had fun being with him, too. It was just a great time for everyone! We met in Waco at Collin Street Bakery and had lunch. When I first saw Pearce, he smiled and kicked his little feet. I picked him up and hugged him. I was so happy to have him back, but I knew my parents were going to be sad. When it was time for Pearce and I to go home, Mama and Papa were very sad :( I'm just so glad it worked out well. Mom and Dad, should we make this a yearly tradition??????
"Mama and Papa, I had fun with you! I love you and I love Cookie! I will see you soon for Christmas!"
Having little Pearce all to ourselves was wonderful for us. Charlotte and Nathan were so sweet to play with and really good about caring for Pearce...giving me pointers like "he's hungry" "change him Mama" "he doesn't like that food." Really funny. Then when Charlotte and Nathan weren't giving advice we had help from Cookie...always by Pearce. By the door when he was sleeping. By his chair when he was "playing" with his food....and waiting to lick up what falls. And patiently being the best way for Pearce to pull-up because he could get such a good grip on that fur. Yes, Carrie, it was very quiet and sad going home, but next time is just around the corner..and we can make that visit a tradition. Love, Mama and Papa and Cookie
