Last weekend, Christie asked Pearce and I to go with her and Ridley to the Renaissance Festival. Christie goes every year and said it was so much fun. So, Pearce and I decided to go on a little adventure with them! Christie picked us up in the morning and we had to stop at Walgreens first to get our tickets and a few other things for our day. I stayed in the car with the boys while Christie ran in. When she came back, she bought each of the boys a stuffed dinosaur that roars.....they were soooo excited and Pearce has been sleeping with "Dino" ever since! Pearce was so excited to ride in Christie's car. They were both such good travelers and played and talked with each other and also watched Jurassic Park....they both LOVE that movie :) It took us about an hour to get to the festival. As soon as we got there, Pearce started spotting knights, kings, queens, and all kinds of other people dressed up. He loved it! Christie and I both said we were just going to take our time and explore and do whatever the kids wanted and just have fun! I had told Pearce that I would get him a new sword and he was ready to find that sword! Christie and I got the boys the cutest, most perfect wooden sword....they loved them! The boys rode medieval rides, rode a camel and a horse, had a tea party with fairies, went to a petting zoo, saw a pirate's show, shot a bow and arrow, and had "sword fights" in the castle! We were there until 4:30 and just had the best time! Pearce and Ridley really loved being together...it was really fun to see that. It was soooo wonderful to be with Christie and to have time to talk about "life." I don't get to see her as much as I would like, and this day was just what we both needed! Thanks for inviting us Christie and Ridley...can't wait to go back!

Easter 2016
We had a very nice, relaxed Easter here in Austin. We normally go to Dallas for Easter, but this year, we decided to just stay home and do Easter with just the 3 of us. Although I missed seeing everyone in Dallas, we really did have such a nice time here at home. When I took Pearce to see the Easter Bunny, he asked him for the Snackeez cup.....a cup where you put a drink in it and then put a snack in the lid...gross :) Pearce saw this on a commercial and thought it was the neatest thing ever, so he asked the Easter Bunny for it....even told him he could get it at Walgreens! So, the Easter Bunny went to work getting all kinds of fun goodies and the Snackeez cup. On Saturday, we colored our eggs which Pearce really had fun doing. I also had a fun surprise for Pearce and got him some confetti eggs. We went to the park and I brought the carton of confetti eggs and as soon as I smashed one on Pearce's head, he went crazy with them! We smashed them on each other and had the best time. Pearce saved one to smash on Daddy's head, too :) On Easter morning, Pearce woke up and could not wait to see what the Easter Bunny had left him. He was so happy with his bucket and and treats! One thing he got was sidewalk chalk paint....Pearce had the best time painting on our sidewalk! We then got dressed and went to church and then went to brunch at the club. We had a really nice lunch and then came home, changed clothes, and Daddy took Pearce to practice his putting at the club....Pearce LOVES to go with Daddy to the "hit holes."
Pearce was supposed to bring Easter cookies for his class party, so he was hard at work decorating all 10 cookies! At school, they had an Easter parade where the kids were supposed to wear some sort of "Eastery" hat. I got Pearce some bunny ears and it was so cute to see him in his little parade. He looked so cute in a shirt that used to be Nay Nay's! Mimi was here at the time, so it was fun for her to get to see Pearce at school!

Spring Break 2016
Pops and Mimi asked if they could have Pearce during his Spring Break. We didn't have anything planned and I was pretty worn out, so we said SURE!! They drove to Austin to pick Pearce up and then left the next day to go all the way back to Little Rock. Pearce could not wait to go....Chris was in the shower that morning and Pearce went to tell him bye, but Chris told him to wait until he got out of the shower....well, Pearce started crying and just wanted to go :) They thought they would possibly split it up and just drive halfway back, but Pearce kept telling them to keep going and wanted to hurry up and get to their house, so they made it all in one day. BUT, when they were about an hour away from LR, they ran into a big hail storm and there was no place for them to take cover, so they had to just pull over and hope the hail didn't shatter the windows! Poor Mimi's car and windshield got totally cracked and her car had big dings all over it! Pearce thought it was fun :) Pops and Mimi kept Pearce busy and having fun the entire week. They made forts, went to the park, went to Chuck E. Cheese, Altitude, saw Zootopia at the theater, and just played at home. Pearce has gotten into the habit of sleeping he with us, so I wondered if I he would be ok sleeping in "his" room in LR...nope.....he slept on a blow up mattress in Pops and Mimi's room and one night he woke them up and asked if he could get in bed with them....which, of course, they said yes :) I definitely did miss my little guy during the week, BUT, I totally took advantage of the downtime by getting a pedicure, going to lunch with friends, going to a movie, and just sitting in the recliner watching Downton Abbey.....LOVED being able to just take it easy! By the time Sunday rolled around, though, I could not wait to hear that doorbell ring and hold my baby boy! As soon as Pearce saw me, he pretty much jumped into my arms and we couldn't stop hugging. I'm so thankful Pops and Mimi wanted to keep Pearce for the week and do all sorts of fun things with him. I'm also thankful Pearce realized he missed me as soon as he saw me :)
I had to include these pics....Pearce got bitten on the cheek by a little boy at a bounce house and then a few days later, ran into one of his friends head on and got a black eye. He was one beaten up little boy when he went with Pops and Mimi :) In the pics, it looks like he's really sad, but he totally made those sad faces on purpose....he really loved looking at his black eye in the mirror and making sure it was still there. I think he was pretty proud of it!
Thank you Pops and Mimi for giving Pearce a wonderful fun-filled week with you guys. We love you!!

The fun begins with a cracked windshield on Mimi's car!
