Charlotte's 4th Birthday

This past weekend, Pearce and I went to Dallas to help celebrate Charlotte's 4th birthday.  We first made a stop to see "Me-Maw".  I just love that Pearce calls Grandma "Me-Maw"!  Pearce is always so sweet to Grandma.  After a nice visit with Grandma, we went to eat lunch at a cute market.  Pearce got a chicky leg, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese.  He ate quite a bit then Mama found him a cute little shopping basket and he had fun pushing it around while Mom and I finished eating.  Then we went back to Mama and Papa's house and boy did Pearce have fun there!  It started raining, so naturally, Mama took Pearce outside to play in the rain!  Before long, Pearce was soaking wet from stomping in mud puddles...Heaven for a little boy!

Friday, I brought Charlotte and Pearce back over to Mama and Papa's house to play while Ash got everything ready for the party.  They had the best time "cleaning" on the porch.  Mom gave them each a Windex bottle with water and they were both just squirting away...it was so funny to watch!  Then we got to go watch Nathan at baseball practice.  Pearce loved watching him and Nathan was very proud to show Pearce off and even try to teach Pearce how to catch the baseball :)  That night Nathan, Charlotte, and Pearce got to watch Frozen while Ashley and I finished getting everything ready for the party.

Saturday was the big party day!  Charlotte had a princess dress-up party.  All of her little friends came dressed in their favorite dress-up outfits, plus Ash had all of Charlotte's dress-up clothes laid out for the girls to change into if they wanted.  There were purses, necklaces, hats, gloves, sparkly dresses, and a full length mirror for the little girls to admire themselves in!  It was adorable!  Some of the girls even tried to get Pearce all dolled up, but he wouldn't participate too much :)  Ash gave all of the girls little tea cup straw cups and they made a cute little tea cup magnet.  We had lots of good food, but Pearce was DYING for a cupcake.  I tried to hold him off until it was time for everyone to eat one, but I caved when I saw him lift the lid off the container, which was on the counter, and get a lick of icing!  So, as soon as I gave him a cupcake, he was one happy little guy.  They all played and played and then after the little girls left, Wayne cooked us some great burgers.  Pearce and I went back to Mama and Papa's house to spend the night.  Mama asked Pearce if he wanted to play in the hose....ummmm....YES!  He kept wanting me to make him a puddle to splash in.  Pearce loves the water!  Charlotte, thank you for inviting us to your adorable birthday party, we had the best time!!!!

The day Pearce stole a box of cereal!

Going to the grocery store with Pearce is not my favorite thing to do with him.  He does love it when he gets to ride in the neat carts, but it's not long before he wants out or wants more snacks, or spills all of his snacks, or wants "m's" at checkout.  By the time I get out of there, I'm pretty exhausted and Pearce has usually shed a few tears.  Tonight I needed to run in to get just a few things.  He picked out the cart he wanted to ride in...always the pink one :)  Before I knew it, I was almost finished with the shopping and realized Pearce had been so nice and quiet the entire time.  I went to tell him he was being such a good boy and then found out why...apparently Pearce had swiped a box of cereal and nearly had it open!  I just can't believe I never saw him get it!  The box was pretty torn up, so I bought it....at least it is one of my favorite cereals!  I fixed him a bowl when we got home and it's now one of Pearce's favorites, too :)

Pops and Mimi come for a visit

I am way behind with this post!  A couple weeks ago Pops and Mimi came for a visit.  They helped keep Pearce while I went away for the weekend to a wedding.  I had so much fun at the wedding, but I did miss my little guy.  I knew he was in great hands with his daddy and Pops and Mimi, so I did not worry at all.  Pops has finally retired and for one of his retirements gifts from his surgical team, he got a gift card to Toys R Us to spend on Pearce.  Pops was always telling them about Pearce and showing them his pictures, so they all felt like they knew Pearce.  They knew what would really make Pops happy and I thought it was one of the sweetest gifts ever!  So, off we went to Toys R Us!  I decided a sand/water table would be the perfect new toy for Pearce because he loves to be outside and he always likes playing with sand and water.  So we found the perfect table and also got him a tee ball set.  I didn't realize how big the box was, so it was a pretty tight fit for Pops and Pearce in the back, but we managed! Pops wasted no time getting the table put together and pretty soon we were all outside watching Pearce play.  He has loved this table!  I have since emptied the water section and just put sand in both sides because he kept wanting to mix the sand and water and it just got to be a real mess :)  I swear, if Pearce could just stay outside all day, he would be one happy little boy!  We also got to celebrate Pops' birthday with an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins.  Pearce could not wait until it was time to light the candles and eat that cake.  I had some leftover party hats, so Pearce really loved that!  Pops and Mimi, thank you so much for taking care of Pearce and helping me so much.  We love it when you come to visit and can't wait until you come again.  Be ready to play outside!

Easter 2014

We had such a wonderful Easter this year!  Pearce got to go to 4 Easter egg hunts and they were all so much fun!  Our first one was at a park with bounce houses, a petting zoo, snow cones, and the Easter Bunny.  I made the mistake of telling Pearce that all the eggs had candy in them and it was TORTURE having to wait until they gave the signal to go get the eggs!  As soon as they said go, Pearce got one egg, sat down, and opened it to eat the candy :)  I got him a few more.  He had so much fun though!  We went to Dallas to celebrate Easter and Pearce was so excited to see Nay Nay and Charlotte!  As soon as we got there, they played and played.  Nathan and Charlotte are sooooo sweet to Pearce, I just love seeing them together.  Nathan is just like a big brother to Pearce.  Pearce will do ANYTHING Nay Nay tells him.  I found myself telling Nathan things like "Tell Pearce to come eat" "Tell Pearce to let me brush his teeth" "Tell Pearce to get in the car" Hahaha!!!  Nathan is seriously such a big help to me!  I'm actually going to have Nathan come stay with me a few days this summer to help me with potty training!  Pearce got to experience his first movie at the theater with Nathan, Charlotte, Ash, and Mama.  We went to see "Bears."  We got all the kids the snack pack with popcorn, candy, and a drink.  Pearce did pretty well for the first part and then started getting a little antsy, so Mama said she would take him home.  But, when Charlotte saw that Mama and Pearce were leaving, she decided to go too....so just me and Ash and Nathan stayed for the rest of the movie :)  It was a good practice run!  Saturday, we went to another Easter egg hunt and it was huge!  Petting zoo, bounce house, face painting, balloon animals, the Easter Bunny, hot dogs...it was so much fun.  That evening we were ready to color eggs!  Pearce had so much fun putting his eggs in the coloring cups and mixing it around.  Their hands were totally dyed and I wondered if they were going to have dyed hands for church!  Luckily it all came off with a long bath.  Pearce was pretty sad when there were no more eggs to be colored :(  We baked another bunny cake that evening and had a great dinner thanks to Ash!  Sunday morning, Charlotte went with me to wake up Pearce and to see what the Easter Bunny left them.  Pearce got a little bunny, Mr. Potato Head, and a Toy Story coloring book, plus some chocolate.  He said "Oh wow!" when he saw the coloring book.  We then got dressed for church and I was so excited to see Pearce in his little bow tie I got him.  Oh man, he looked so cute!  Wayne kept calling him "Professor" and "Dr. Jones" :)  Nathan and Charlotte look so adorable, too!  Nathan actually wore Wayne's Easter tie from when Wayne was a little boy.  He looked like such a little man!  When we got to church, Ashley and I went to drop the kids off in the nursery and Nathan was so excited to drop off Pearce.  I was so afraid Pearce would start crying, but he didn't!  Nathan got to go to big church with us.  He was really excited about that...for about the first 10 minutes, then he got really antsy, but he pulled through and the service was really amazing!  When we got home, we had another egg hunt at Ashley's house and once again, as soon as Pearce picked up his first egg, he just wanted to sit down and start eating the candy out of it :)  We had such a fun weekend in Dallas being with family.  Pearce was asleep about 15 minutes into our drive home.  Thank you for hosting us Ash....we miss all of you!!
