Bethany School Thanksgiving Feast 2014

Today, I got to go to Pearce's Thanksgiving Feast at school.  Pearce was soooo excited about me coming to eat with him and I was really looking forward to it, too!  I dressed Pearce in a cute brown and navy button up shirt and his navy corduroy pants...he looked adorable!  The parents were supposed to meet in the chapel at 11:30.  The music director then started playing the piano and then one by one, the classes started coming in and walked down the aisle.  The kids were all dressed as either Indians, Pilgrims, or Turkeys.  When I saw Pearce's class start coming in, tears welled up in my eyes.  His class looked so adorable in little turkey hats they made and of course, Pearce looked sooo cute!  As soon as he saw me, the biggest smile came on his face and he started waving to me.  I seriously had to hold myself together.  The mom next to me saw me all teary eyed, taking videos and pictures and she said to me, "Awww, is this your first feast?"  LOL!!!!  I just was so proud of how nicely he was walking with his class and for him to be soooo happy to see me, just made me want to cry my eyes out!  Ms. Dawn led them to the front pew and sat all the kids down.  My little Pearce kept peeking over the pew to wave to me and blow me kisses :)  I mean, how could you not cry happy tears????  The kids sang several Thanksgiving songs and then class by class, their teachers led them out to go to the Fellowship Hall for the feast, then the parents were to follow.  When Pearce passed me, he had a sad look on his face and I know it's because he thought I wasn't going to come eat with him.  When the last class left, the parents could start walking over and I was pretty much speed walking to get to the feast!  When I got there, Pearce already had his plate and when he saw me, he gave me the BIGGEST hug!  I got my plate and sat down beside him and we just had the best time.  Pearce ate all of his turkey, pumpkin bread, apples, and a little bit of cheese.  He was such a good boy and I was one proud mommy!  After lunch, it was time for his class to line up and go back to their classroom for about 45 more minutes.  Pearce gave me a hug and kiss and went right up to Ms. Dawn to grab a "donut."  His class walks with a rope thingy that has rings down it which they call donuts.  Each child grabs a donut and that keeps them in a line.  Two kids started crying because they didn't want to leave their parents.  I was soooo happy that Pearce had no problem going back to his class for a little while.  I went to Starbucks and ran a few quick errands and then went to pick Pearce up.  Because he was sooo good and sweet, we stayed after school for a bit and played on the playground.  Pearce went up to a couple other kids and said to them, "You want to tase me?"  It was so cute!  So, he played chase with the other kids for a while and then we went home for a nap.  While I was rocking him, he said to me, "Mommy thank you to coming to my feast."  I mean, could my little boy be any sweeter?!?!

See those little eyes peeking over?

This is Ms. Irene, the assistant teacher in Pearce's class.  He talks about Ms. Irene almost as much as he talks about Ms. Dawn!

Halloween 2014...To Infinity and Beyond!!!

Halloween this year was a success!  Mama and Papa came to help us celebrate and we were busy preparing for Halloween since the minute they got here.  On Wednesday, we went to eat dinner at Phil's Ice House.  After dinner we went to the Halloween House in Round Rock.  It is a residential house, but they go all out for Halloween with lights and music.  Pearce LOVED this!  We also got to go inside and see how they have it decorated inside.  We just saw the front rooms of the house, but every single room in the house is decorated...so cool!  Thursday, we went to Sweet Berry Farm and had the best time there.  After Pearce's nap, Mama and Pearce baked spooky cupcakes.  Pearce loved sprinkling the candy bones on top, but loved eating them even more!  Then, Papa carved our pumpkin that we got at Sweet Berry Farm.  It was soooo funny watching him carve the pumpkin.  Papa didn't want to use the pumpkin saw I had....he wanted a "pumpkin knife"...whatever that is :)  Then he was giving constructive criticism on where I should draw the eyes, nose, and mouth.  Can't put the eyes too close to the top, or else the top won't be supported....can't put the nose too close to the eyes, or else the nose won't be supported.  And oh my goodness.....when I drew the mouth with all the teeth, Mama and Papa almost lost it because it was going to be impossible to saw all those teeth!  The video of the whole thing is hilarious!  Our pumpkin turned out perfect, though...even with all those teeth :)  On Halloween, Chris made his famous chili, I made mummy dogs, and we were ready to get our trick-or-treating on!  Mama had the most perfect witch hat.  Ashley made my Jessie costume and I just loved it.  Pearce looked so cute as Buzz Lightyear.  He could not wait to go trick-or-treating.  We took a few pictures and then off we went in the wagon.  He was not shy at all about going up to houses.  We started around 6:30 and I really have no idea how many houses we went to.  There's one really spooky house on our street where the guy goes all out for Halloween.  The theme this year was a circus theme with scary clowns.  Pearce loved going to his house to see all the decorations before Halloween.  On Halloween night, we made our way down there and he got scared.  He let me hold him to take him up to the door to get his candy :)  By the time we got home, his bucket was full!  I spread out a blanket on the floor and told him he could eat whatever he wanted.  Pearce dumped his candy out and had the best time.  He actually didn't eat as much as I thought he would.  We put him to bed around 9:30 and but he talked and talked until about 11:00!  Oh, that sugar high!  We had such a fun Halloween this year.  I just loved seeing so many kids out all dressed up and having the best time!  Thank you Mama and Papa for celebrating with us!
