20 Months Old!

Pearce, you are 20 months old now!  I can't believe how fast time is flying by and how much you are growing and changing each day.  You are such a talker and now put several words together all the time.  The other day you said "Mommy eh funny."  Awww...I'm glad you think I'm funny :)

You have such a good memory.  You always talk about the choo choo train at the mall and how you have to give the man tickets.  You love for me to sing you songs....especially "E-Yi-Yo."  You will say, "Peese Mommy, E-Yi-Yo."  We sing that a LOT in the car :)  The other day, your friend, Bodie came over to play and he brought you a car.  I said that was so nice of Bodie and now when you play with the car, you say "Bodie eh nice."  You have started saying "Yup or Yap" for yes :)  It's pretty funny!  You love to show us how you can run fast.  You will say "Run fast....seh, doe!"  Or you will say "On, doo, free, doe!"  You now want to do EVERYTHING yourself...buckle yourself in, pour your milk, feed yourself, put on your shoes and socks, give Otis his medicine.  I let you do what you can, but man, do you get mad when I don't let you do something....like pour your own milk :)

You get so happy and squeal when Daddy comes home.  You still love to watch videos about planes or "dof darts" with him.  At the moment, you are pretty obsessed with your cousin, Nathan or "Nay Nay" as you call him.  You want to watch videos of him and see pictures of him, but you often cry after because you want the real thing!  Mother's Day Out is getting easier for you, I think.  I now hold your hand and you walk right in....but usually cry a little and then you are o.k.  Yesterday, I held your hand as we walked to your classroom and as your teacher opened the door and said "Hi Pearce," your little mouth turned down and started to quiver....but you really didn't cry....I saw her direct you to a table of toys and you were happy!  I've also started putting "BB" in your backpack so that you don't have it when you walk in, but it's there if you need it.  You were holding "BB" when I picked you up yesterday :)

If you could live outside, you would be so happy!  You just love to play outside and ride in your wagon, play with your bike, blow bubbles, or go for a stroller ride to get the mail.  You are just the sweetest little thing.  The next few holiday months are going to be so fun with you!  Mommy and Daddy love you more than you will ever know!

Mama and Papa's Visit

We had such a fun time with Mama and Papa when they came for a visit.  I love for them to come, but man, I hate to see them leave.  Our time together was jam-packed with ice cream cones, trips to the park, going on wagon rides, playing outside, and just having fun being together!  When they got here, our first order of business was to take Pearce to get an ice cream cone and go to the park....two of Pearce's favorite things!  This boy is so good with an ice cream cone!

We took Mama with us to Gymboree so she could see what all Pearce gets to do there.  That was really fun!  After his nap, we went to the mall to get new shoes...and some new fall clothes for the little guy!  We couldn't go to the mall and not ride the train and carousel, though!

Pearce loves his Papa!  They had fun playing with his blocks and going on I don't know how many wagon rides around the neighborhood!

Yesterday morning we ventured downtown to Zilker Park to go on the train there and play on the neat playground they have.  Well, the train was not operating because there was something wrong with the track, but we still had fun playing on the playground.  And what do you do when you are hot and sweaty from playing?  Well, you get an ice cream cone, of course!  Like I said, Pearce LOVES his ice cream cones!  And check out those cute new shoes!

The park was right by Austin's famous Barton Springs, so Mom and I said next time, we are going to bring our suits and go for a dip!  You can see the water where we were sitting...it's so pretty at Zilker Park!

While Mama cooked us dinner, Pearce decided he would make us some soup :)  I put Pearce's apron and hat on and put him in his learning tower.  I just put a bowl in the sink and gave him a spoon and mom kept adding ingredients to his bowl....pasta, lettuce, tomatoes....he went to town stirring that "soup!"

Mama and Papa, we had so much fun with you!  Thank you for all of your help and for spoiling my baby boy!  Come back and see us soon.  We love you!!

Sassy Pea petting farm...and a "Mother of the Year" moment

Today we met up with our friend, Ella Ray and her mommy Kristin.  We first went to Gymboree for a fun class and then headed over to the Sassy Pea Farmer's Market.  They have a petting farm that I have been wanting to go to.  It's a small little market and even has it's own little preschool.  Pearce would love that school because the kids were all outside playing and watering plants and "being one with the earth" :)  We got our feed and carrots and then headed out to see the animals.  There was a donkey, two pigs, a lamb, and two goats.  Pearce and Ella Ray were having so much fun throwing feed to them and letting them nibble on the carrots we had.

The donkey seemed so friendly, so I picked Pearce up and let him pet the donkey and then Pearce wanted some of the feed, so I thought, sure...feed the nice donkey!  BIG MISTAKE.  Below is my "Mother of the Year" moment :(

Oh, nice, sweet donkey....

Hey donkey, give my baby his fingers back!  Mommy fail...sorry little guy :(

After that little incident, we moved away from the animals and onto something a little more safe.

First day of Mother's Day Out

Last week, Pearce went to his first day of Mother's Day Out.  He will go every Wednesday from 9:00-1:00.  I really hadn't thought about him going this year, but found out a lot of my friends were starting to send their kids, so I started looking at programs in May.  After visiting several churches, I found this one that I loved!  Of course we were late registering and had to be put on a wait list.  I called all during the summer to see if a spot had opened up, but no luck.  Then a couple weeks before it was supposed to start, I got a call that a Wednesday spot was open and would we like it?  YES!!!!  That was a perfect day for us, too!  It was so fun getting all of Pearce's things together for "school."  GG sent Pearce this cute lunch box and Razorback backpack.  Daddy ordered Pearce his very first pair of real tennis shoes and he could not have looked cuter!
Mama got me the cute chalkboard that I painted and spent FOREVER trying to write on in my neatest handwriting for his first day of school picture.  I packed his lunch and backpack the night before.  For lunch, I packed a peanut butter sandwich, cheese cubes, apple slices, a sippy cup, and a little cookie :)  His backpack had to have a change of clothes and 3 diapers labeled with his name and another sippy cup.  I'm going to get his name monogrammed on his lunch box this week and I also need to see if I can get his name on his blankies.....the only problem is how to do that in a day so that he has them at night????

I woke him up at 7:45 so that he would have plenty of time to eat a good breakfast.  I fixed his usual bowl of oatmeal....which he promptly threw on the floor and then said "Lean up Mommy."  Thanks, Pearce :)  After we tried again with yogurt, which thankfully he did eat, I got him dressed and then outside we went for pics!

All the way to school, I talked to him about going to school and playing with his teacher.  He kept saying "Cool?  Cheecher?"  I knew drop off was going to be short and sweet, so as soon as we walked in, I gave him a kiss and then one of his teachers took him from me and the other got his backpack and lunch box and as soon as I turned around to leave, he started crying and saying "Mommy, Mommy."  I totally did not think I would cry, but as I was walking out of the building, tears were building up in my eyes.  I called Mom and just started crying to her.  Man, this little guy knows how to get me!  But as we talked, I felt better.  I knew he would end up having fun and he does have to learn that it's o.k. for me to leave because I always come back, but this was the first time leaving him for such a long period of time.  I was totally o.k. when I got to Starbucks and then to a quiet house at home :)

When I picked him up, they said he did great and only cried for a little bit after I left.  He kept showing me the "tamp" on his hand that he got from his teachers.  It was fun looking in his lunch box and seeing that he ate most of what I packed him....actually, I'm assuming he ate it....could be that he threw most of it on the floor since that is what he's into these days :)  I am so glad he got into this MDO program and his two teachers seem so sweet.  AND....not gonna lie.....it's nice to have a few hours all to myself!
